Yes! Several times, in fact, and even once or twice from the same source. We eventually settled into relationships with different retailers, and different buying focuses, so it happened less and less, and now we aren’t buying much at all.
I joke about it, but I am sure no one will be shocked when I say that our shared love of wine, how we met in the first place and a centerpiece of our life together, is one of the happiest things about my life.
I feel like an inmate on death row.
I know I am about to get killed (when my wife sees the amount of wine coming in). I don’t know exactly when it will happen, I just know it is inevitable.
Signed, promised my wife no more wine buying this year. Waiting for 20+ cases to be delivered.
I don’t try and hide any of my purchases, though I do prefer to be hone when, say, seven boxes of Andremily arrive, as they will next week :D. My wife does’t really complain, but I do get the occasional “don’t we have enough wine?” comment. She does buy also, but to a much lesser extent, and has her own dedicated section in the cellar.
sorry for being gauche replying to my own post, but I wanted to add - the unspoken flip side to this is that I never say a word about her online purchases - ever. and there are lots…
Similar experience here. I share my purchases with my husband as they happen, but multiple cases arriving at once occasionally looks to me to deserve further explanation. He has never expressed concern and understands the seasonality of wine shipments, but I feel it for the both of us. On the other hand, I’m about as excited as I ever get about shipments coming to the house when they’re wine shipments.
Got 8-10 cases (give or take) from Spectrum but still not satisfied with the temps within California. Gonna wait until early November for 60s instead of 70s.
