Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes
Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes are organically-grown and harvested in Northern California. Our mission is to bring you the very best tomatoes that Mother Nature and human ingenuity has to offer.
Heresy.
Rudy K has gone too far this time.
Blasphemy!
hmm, are my Cento’s suspect?
Yep. I’d be dumping them pronto.
Looked in my pantry, and sure enough I have the white cans with red of the fakers.
Like Blue Mountain and Kona coffees…more are sold and drunk than are grown.
For the real fraud, look at “Italian” olive oil.
I’m gonna go have some Kobe Beef sliders.
I get the giant cans ar Restaurant Depot. They may be fake, but the aroma upon opening is 1000 times better that Hunts.
Mega Red!
well not the whole ones. when they come out of the can in the actual form of a san marzano pretty sure you are good.
I have a can. Fake!
If you read the can the tomatoes are from a region NEAR San Marzano.
The can says San Marzano however as the article states if it says San Marzano they are not.
Real San Marzano label
“Pomodoro S. Marzano dell’Agro Sarnese-Nocerino.” DOP
Mark,
Thanks for posting this.
In CA, why buy even chance San Marzano when we have Bianco DiNapoli!?

Well I guess to me it doesn’t have to be DOCG DOP san marzano or texan post oak for that matter. If the tomato is a san marzano and harvested ripe it is acceptable to me.

Exactly.
In CA, why buy even chance San Marzano when we have Bianco DiNapoli!?
Because the tomatoes are from volcanic soils.
The tomatoes have a lower acid and fewer seeds.
Sweetness is higher also.
The same reason you buy La Tache instead of California pinot.

Guess you’ve never had bianco next to actual San Marzano before? The quality is right up there with way less hassle or cost. It’s not like La Tache v California Pinot that are two completely different flavors/clones.
