Faiveley Clos-St-Denis?

Anyone have experience with Faiveley’s Clos-St-Denis? Doesn’t ever seem to be reviewed.

Or their Clos de la Roche? Another rarity.

Their Fuees intruigues me but the price is a deterrent, though maybe it’s one of the better parcels.

Timely question Alan. One of my local bottle shops has still has the 2010 Clos Saint-Denis GC on the shelf and the pricing is very good. That said I, like you, am unaware of the wine specifically and the pricing isn’t what I’d consider as cheap. And there’s only 17 in CT with no notes? Same shop has the '10 Clos de la Roche Robert but that’s $100AUD dearer. I’ve been a fan of the Faiveley style since Erwan took over and it does seem they aren’t as actively sought out as top tier burg producers despite making some very good wines. Finally, neither appear on Faiveley’s web site. Are they made from purchased fruit?

The Fuees are very good. I had the '10 vintage.

I believe Faiveley CSD are from bought grapes.

Like their new 2016 Chambertin

Bill, any thoughts on the typical quality of the wines in question?

Never (memorably!) tasted that one Alan, sorry…

Did some reading on the subject and found your positive review. Their plot apparently borders Bonne Mares with red clay and limestone. May have to spring for some eventually, seems more promising than the CSD or CdlR.
