GETTING LOW ON THE BERSERKER CUVEES!!
We’re stoked to be back for BD17, our 16th year participating in this fine event! I’m Vincent Fritzsche. Here I am with my winery crew celebrating the last fruit in for harvest 2024, at our facility outside of Amity, OR, in the heart of the Willamette Valley.
We started production in 2009, and make roughly 3,000 cases each year of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Gamay and more under our Vincent label…plus a small project focused on old school Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon we label as Fritzsche (FRITCH-ee). We work with ten vineyards, all sustainable or organic farming, dry farmed in the Willamette Valley, and make our wines with a very light but careful touch. Natural fermentations, no filtering, we’re truly committed to vintage and site expression. We have a pretty sizable mailing list and work with approximately 15 distributors and a few importers to get the wines around the U.S. and beyond. We started our apprenticeship in winemaking because of people we met through wine boards like Wine Berserkers, so there’s an incredibly special feeling to be part of Wine Berserkers and BerserkerDay. We’re sellers on BerserkerDay but buyers too, how amazing is this event!
To order - we’re simple, just email us at vincentwines@gmail.com with your selections and we’ll respond in the order received, as soon as possible. Please include your full, complete shipping or delivery address, and DOB. We’ll follow up with an emailed invoice via Square for your total. Questions? Just ask. Happy to help. Want to customize an order? Also happy to do that as we can, just email us.
Ground shipping is included on all orders. Note: Berserker Tardive wines will be bottled in early March so they won’t be ready until then. All the other wines are ready for local delivery or pick up, or shipping to the west coast before March as weather allows. We’ll ship points midwest, south and east in March into April as weather and workflow allow. Yes, you can buy now and combine with our mailing list offer in February to get free shipping on everything. We can also hold orders for later this year or whenever you need, we make it super easy for you.
Also, Monopole Cru members, we have an incredibly exclusive MC offer on library verticals that you shouldn’t miss. Check the Monopole Cru forum for that. And we have an amazing auction lot, a six pack of deep, deep library bottles that are super rare, some just a few bottles left in our personal cellar. Bid that up, let’s make some money for Wine Berserkers.
Ok, let’s go!! Offers first, full details below and separate raffles for Preview Day and BerserkerDay main event buyers at the very bottom. Remember, order by emaling us at vincentwines@gmail.com with your picks.

Ok we’re back for year two of exclusive Berserker Tardive wines. What’s Tar-DEEV mean? It refers to later bottling, longer lees aging in barrel than our “regular” bottlings of the same designation. Berserker Tardive? That means extra crazy pricing, just for BerserkerDay.
The 2023 Chardonnay Berserker Tardive is two barrels held back from our regular Chardonnay Tardive, aged nearly 30 months on lees with no filtering. One barrel and half of another come from own-rooted 1980s vines, Wente selection, at Dion Vineyard in the loess soils of the Laurelwood District. Then we blended half of a barrel of Dijon clone Chard from the great Royer Vineyard in the red, volcanic soils of the Eola-Amity Hills. The result is a super cuvee of our Chardonnay Tardive, longer on lees than any wine we’ve ever release, fitting for a Berserker Tardive designation. Our 2023 regular Chardonnay Tardive sold out in a hurry, and this Berserker Tardive might be even better (and for less money!). Lovely, salty orchard fruit with a bit of pineapple sweetness, obviously shows great leesy, umami character as you’d expect. Piecing and focused, but then so geneous and giving without losing its shape or form in any way. We may be experimenting with longer lees aging in the future given this cuvee. Load up.
The 2024 Pinot Noir Berserker Tardive is a special selection of one barrel each from Armstrong Vineyard on Ribbon Ridge (home of Berserker favorite Red Electric Wines) and Temperance Hill Vineyard, high in the Eola-Amity Hills. Both barrels as neutral French oak, the wines a blend of marine and volcanic soils, Dijon 115 clone from Armstrong planted in 2007 and own-rooted, 1984 Pommard vines at Temperance Hill. Last year’s 2022 Ribbon Ridge Berserker Tardive was a touch polarizing, perhaps even a little Berserk, a wine with a wild side from the frosty 2022 vintage. Many loved the wine, but be sure - this year’s cuvee is in everyone’s Oregon wheelhouse, the Berserk quality here is the price. These are single vineyard level barrels, for wines retailing for $50 to $60, and values at that. People are always saying - you should raise your prices! The price/quality ratio here is truly insane, buy with confidence. The 2024 vintage is electric! Incredible acidities at harvest with good ripeness but not too much. A classically great Willamette Valley vintage, and I don’t usually say such things. Medium dark ruby color. Floral deep black cherry aromas, a classic WV profile, earth, fruit, suede, just lovely and so perfumed. The flavors are bright in the mouth, with pie cherries, leaf and stem touches amid floral, darker fruits, with great acidity with a lovely movement to the finish, not heavy at all but deep. This wine is simply a steal, with such purity.

Do you love Oregon Pinot Noir? Here’s a case of our four single vineyard Pinots from the luscious 2023 vintage. Armstrong on Ribbon Ridge, the others all Eola-Amity Hills. Vinous reviews all 94-95 points, not that we’re about that but honestly these are tremendous wines and values, even more so at our BerserkerDay package pricing.
Pinot Noir Armstrong Vineyard is all marine soil, with noble tannin to match the deep black cherry and darjeeling tea notes typical of this site. One for the cellar, and a nice cut of Morgan Ranch beef.
Pinot Noir Cortell Rose is lithe and deeply berry fruited, with a strong acidity and not nearly the tannin as the Armstrong. Floral, detailed. Very much a volcanic soil wine in texture.
Pinot Noir Zenith Vineyard is from marine soil, and we do a fair bit of whole cluster on the marine sites while destemming the volcanic sites, the idea is to give the density of the wine some lift and space. It shows here, with beet root and dark fruit notes, very fine tannin and just an elegant edge to the power of this site.
Pinot Noir Temperance Hill Vineyard is high elevation, red volcanic soil, always the latest Pinot pick each harvest and from 40 year old own-rooted vines. The lilly of the bunch, just so floral, elegant and detailed, all finesse rather than power, our highest rated wine to date at 95pts from Vinous.

Oregon Chardonnay continues to explode in interest and quality. The Willamette Valley is truly one of the great places on earth for the noble, but perhaps too widely planted, Chardonnay grape. We barrel ferment but mostly in older French oak, just a few new barrels each year for our whole production so oak is never too forward in our wines. Eighteen months on lees, bottled unfiltered as with all of our wines. All volcanic soils with these wines, the red clay loam is perfect for Chardonnays of finesse. Temperance is lithe and detailed, with the Royers showing a bit more power and crystalline intensity. We don’t push reduction, so there’s a touch but we’re more old school in our all barrel aging, no steel tanks involved.
Offer 5 - The Jim Cowan/David Bueker
Full case of our flagship Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge, 2024 vintage

Named for two longtime Berserkers who’ve both posted repeated, glowing tasting notes over the years. Thank you to them both, what a treat to see their feedback. The 2024 model of our Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir is 100% Armstrong Vineyard, after two years of supplementing the Armstrong fruit with a neighboring site (after the frost of 2022). We’ve produced a Ribbon Ridge cuvee and an Armstrong designate since 2010, so 15 years now. Amazing. The main difference between the cuvees is that Ribbon Ridge is 10 months in barrel vs. 18 months for the vineyard designate, and the Ribbon Ridge includes some of the press wine where the single vineyard bottling is always 100% free run. Lots of notes in the database here on this bottling, I’ll just add that the 2024 is among the top efforts we’ve produced. Such precision and with the fine tannin of this marine soil site. Intended for earlier consumption, 3-7 years from vintage, this cuvee will age exceptionally well. A bottle of the 2016 last month at an event in Portland was singing and still a pup.
Offer 6 - Fritzsche Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Six-Pack

2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Bengier Vineyard Oak Knoll District
2022 Cabernet Sauvignon “Family Reunion”

My last name Fritzsche (FRITCH-ee) we give to our special project of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. We work with Bengier Vineyard in Oak Knoll District, farmed by the Matthiasson crew, and have a half acre of rows just for us. We bring the fruit to Oregon to make the wine, so we can only label it as California appellation, but these are all 100% Napa Valley fruit and show it. Classic, old school presentation here, the farming is all about ripeness at moderate sugars and good acidities. Final alcohols in the 12.1% to 13.1% on all of these wines, they all show lovely cassis and gravelly earth qualities with grace and elegance, not overt power that’s tiring. ’23 Bengier is as yet unrated, but ’22 Bengier got 94pts from Vinous and our second wine, Family Reunion, which blends Bengier and then York from Rutherford, got 92pts.

Want to check out the literally cool 2023 vintage in Napa. Here’s a three pack of our signature bottling, the 2023 Fritzsche Cabernet Sauvignon Bengier Vineyard Oak Knoll District. Harvested on October 17 at 12.1% potential alcohol, this wine has sneaky richness but is so light on its feet, drinkable younger but no doubt a one to two decade ager, at least. One new French oak barrel in the mix here, this wine like all of our wines is not oak forward, rather oak framed. Don’t miss!
Offer 8 - Value Case
Mix and match any 12 of any of these wines - full cases, 4+4+4, 2+7+3, you name it:
2024 Pinot Blanc Willamette Valley
2023 Pinot Gris Willamette Valley (light red wine)

These wines are among our base level Willamette Valley series. The Pinot Blanc comes from 1990s vines of true Pinot Blanc at Zenith Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. Fermented in very old French oak, we make this in the small Burgundian tradition of Blanc to make dry wine with a richness from lees aging while remaining crisp and fresh.
The light red wine of Pinot Gris comes from a 1980s own-rooted planting at Dion Vineyard in the Laurelwood District. Made just like our Pinot Noir, fermented to dryness on the skins and aged 10 months on lees in older French oak, think of it as Pinot Noir’s slightly rustic southern French cousin, a chewy country round loaf to Pinot Noir’s tender brioche. Speaking metaphorically. Perfect with a light chill. Ideal with charcuterie.
Our Gamay is from 1980s roots in the Chehalem Mountains field grafted in the last decade to true Gamay Noir a jus Blanc, the grape of Beaujolais (which the TTB makes us call “Gamay Noir” on the label). Also made just like our Pinot Noir, with open top natural fermentation and aging in older French oak for 10 months. Fresh, bright, floral, peppery and so red fruited. Classic Oregon Gamay.
Raffle - mags of '16 Bjornson Pinot Noir
Finally, for each of the two days of BerserkerDay madness, we will raffle off one library 1.5L magnum of 2016 Vincent Pinot Noir Bjornson Vineyard, with shipping or local delivery included To be part of the raffle, simply place an order by emailing us at vincentwines@gmail.com and then make sure you’ve posted to the thread. At the end of each day we’ll select one winner randomly and announce it in the thread (and let you know with a direct message). Then we’ll ship or deliver as weather and workflow allow.
Bjornson is a terrific site we worked with for a decade, high in the Eola-Amity Hills, adjacent to Seven Springs Vineyard. Red, volcanic soils, making for a lithe, elegant but long lived and classic Pinot Noir. The '16 Bjornson is drinking great and for free, it’s one of the better deals on all of BerserkerDay, haha.
