Ever keep leftover beer?

Before you flame, I’m talking 750ml, high alcohol brews. I would figure that if you use a Champagne stopper in the fridge it would still drink well the next day.

Surely someone has tried this, any success?

I’ve done it. Usually it’s fine.

You gotta just power through it man!

I took some heat last year for admitting that I’m only a one beer a night guy.

I’m waiting for Brent Clayton to chime in about how my grandpa would work in the steel mill all day and pound 24 Iron City beers that night. [cheers.gif]

Even though they were from Boston lol.

I think Wetrock used to do this…

I use Champagne stoppers all the time. I’d say power through a big IPA, but otherwise think of it like a growler- you might lose a little carbo- but not much if your seal is good.

He’s still around I hope! (just not here…)

I heard he was on a Mormon mission.

stop being a sally.

drink it.

How to save the left over beer? I have some experience about keeping the leftover beer. Later on, I found some reason why should we keep the left over beer. My concern is how long the beer would keep and finally I found some reason it is lose of carbonation which is consider this to keep for several days.

Pete, I thought your dad’s family was from Pittsburgh? Kinda sad that I have deeper Pittsburgh roots than you, via a wicked stepmother. neener

My peeve is that the champagne stoppers don’t fit on all ‘big’ beers. Usually they fit Belgians, and bottles like the Bruery uses for example, most of which are the 750ml (25oz) size, but I’ve not had much luck with the standard 22oz beer bottles.

I think it’s fine if you finish it the next night.

And I hear he’s pretty tied up trying new beers as well!

I occasionally drink a beer over two days — usually heavy stouts or sours.

I’ll simply put. regular wine stopper or An used cork in a bottle that was corked; for bottles that were crown capped, I simply snap the crown cap back on, as my beer opener barely alters the crown cap when I remove it.

My entire family on both sides is from Boston, my dad moved us to Buffalo and then Pittsburgh for 13 years, which is where I grew up.

We find that the glass stoppers used in wine bottles work as great stoppers in 22 oz bottles, and they will usually hold pressure - to a point.
