Before you flame, I’m talking 750ml, high alcohol brews. I would figure that if you use a Champagne stopper in the fridge it would still drink well the next day.
I use Champagne stoppers all the time. I’d say power through a big IPA, but otherwise think of it like a growler- you might lose a little carbo- but not much if your seal is good.
How to save the left over beer? I have some experience about keeping the leftover beer. Later on, I found some reason why should we keep the left over beer. My concern is how long the beer would keep and finally I found some reason it is lose of carbonation which is consider this to keep for several days.
Pete, I thought your dad’s family was from Pittsburgh? Kinda sad that I have deeper Pittsburgh roots than you, via a wicked stepmother.
My peeve is that the champagne stoppers don’t fit on all ‘big’ beers. Usually they fit Belgians, and bottles like the Bruery uses for example, most of which are the 750ml (25oz) size, but I’ve not had much luck with the standard 22oz beer bottles.
I think it’s fine if you finish it the next night.
I occasionally drink a beer over two days — usually heavy stouts or sours.
I’ll simply put. regular wine stopper or An used cork in a bottle that was corked; for bottles that were crown capped, I simply snap the crown cap back on, as my beer opener barely alters the crown cap when I remove it.
