HI all,
As mentioned in a different thread here some time ago, we purchased Eurocaves from Wine Enthusiast (theR600 series) and when our bracing bars were dislodged during a move, their customer service was inversely (read: NOT AT ALL) helpful and provided us with zero service or assistance but the internet came to the rescue and with manual labor and some creativity, we were able to solve the issue.
We’ve developed a leak into the bottom of one of our two fridges and discovered it last summer. Many calls to WE resulted in nothing, again - they gave us “certified repair numbers” from their directory which either didn’t work or were associated with plumbers or maintenance firms that didn’t deal with in home wine fridge / storage.
Through WB threads, we stumbled on this guy Eli in the suburbs but he appears to be mercurial and we’ve been trying to get him out (after an intial visit last year where he didn’t have the right part for us) to fix the fridge to no avail. He is also literally the only person I could get in contact with who knew a single thing about Eurocaves.
Does ANYONE have a lead on someone else, in the Chicagoland area or elsewhere who could help us? I would be delighted at this point even have a convo with someone in the know who could instruct us on how to repair, or what to do and bonus points if they could show up in person.
As many / all know, its incredibly frustrating to invest thousands of dollars into something that comes with literally no service on the other end. Wine Enthusiast can’t help us but maybe the fine folks of WB can?
Many thanks in advance.
Hello Rebecca,
I have a Vinotheque 500 QT and back in 2012 an HVAC business performed the repair. It took a few attempts but my unit was fixed (parts had to be ordered from Vinotheque). ATC (Affordable Temperature Control), Northbrook, IL ph. 847.498.4328. I have no clue if they are still in business or if they are still involved in wine fridge repairs. Good luck!
Ah! This is incredibly helpful. I actually feel like that was one of the names Wine Enthusiast provided and we dead ended some time ago but I’m absolutely willing to reach back out and try again.
Thank you for this - fingers crossed they can help!

Updates, mostly for the purpose of paying it forward and providing a (hopefully) helpful solution for folks in Chicago with home wine storage issues in the future.
At the recommendations of an offline friend, I called A Perfect Climate and while Mike does work on some wine units, he will not touch Eurocaves.
John (thank you!) recommended ATC in Northbrook and they were very nice but don’t service the city of Chicago. Womp. However, the receptionist mentioned Platinum Mechanical as their “go to” in the city and they WERE able to come out.
Rick didn’t have a ton of experience with Eurocaves either but clearly knew wine fridges and had done some research so hopefully we’ve a solution (or at least a plan) for our fridge issues.
File Platinum Mechanical away as a viable repairmen should you need in the city of Chicago. Thanks as always to the hive here for suggestions on and offline.
