Eurocave Cold Circuit Fault

Hello,

First post as a new user! I’m looking for some guidance about troubleshooting a Eurocave Classic 283. It was acquired last fall from a New York restaurant and hasn’t given me issue until this past summer. Just about every other day we would have the cold circuit alarm come on (blue light flashes with an exclamation point). Most days I would just hit one of the buttons and it would stop alarming until another day. With the higher temperatures of the summer, we also saw some water pooling at the bottom of the cabinet. Both of these issues have effectively stopped since the temperatures dropped. The wine cabinet is positioned downstairs in our apartment (coolest part of the space), against a corner with maybe 10 inches or clearance. My hunch is that this is a compressor issue but I’m not a technician so I wanted some feedback from other Eurocave owners. Is this something you can DIY or address yourself? Are there things you can do before replacing parts outright? I’m not afraid to take the fridge apart and poke around but any guidance/feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

How old is the unit?

The model is from 2003.

Nice to hear about these fixes…hopefully none of us will need them, but it’s good to have them if we need them.

Why do you think it’s the compressor? It sounds like it might just be thermostat-related.

I guess if it was a thermostat issue, I don’t see why it would not be alarming in the cold seasons. My thought was the compressor is struggling when it has to actively cool at all times (the summer). Another important piece of information is that we don’t constantly run the heat or air conditioning throughout the year, only when we are home from work. I know some households are 20C all year long on any given day.

I guess I don’t know what the cold circuit alarm is supposed to indicate.
