Estancia Reserve Pinot Noir 2007

ESTANCIA RESERVE PINOT NOIR 2007

Sitting here with my husband, as we have our second glass of this Pinot. I am rather enjoying it; it has a playful sweetness to it.
The nose of it, initially is of black cherries, followed by strawberries. On the palate, it brings a tease of raspberries, along with what I would think violets may taste like. I picked up a few other earthy notes: a little smokiness and black pepper. The tannins were smooth and silky, yet there was some complexity of the glass, as we sipped this deep, dark red.
The label states that this is a reserve; Santa Lucia Highlands. The cork is natural material.
We picked up this bottle for $21.00.

On the wine scale, I give this 91.
A very pleasant and enjoyable wine.

Thanks for the note.

Been a long time since I last tried an Estancia. I don’t see it very often where I shop these days. Not sure if distribution changed or what. At one time I saw it everywhere. Glad to know its still offering value. Will look for it.
