Have really enjoyed the Chenin in the past. Any idea what the signature of 2024 is as a vintage? (I’m sure they are delicious.)
Hi Dave - the 2024 Chenin is more similar than different to the 2023 which I’m happy about. The 2023 was a mix of Upland (planted 1979) and Roza Hills (planted “early 1980s”). The 2024 blend includes a third vineyard called Holmason in addition to those two so I will be bottling a little more volume this year. Process is the same (hand pick, whole cluster press, native ferment in old oak and stainless drum). The wines are still in the containers we fermented in but when I have made a trial blend in the lab the combo has nice acidity, slightly lower alcohols, crunchy honeydew melon, romaine lettuce. I’m slated to bottle in March so we are getting ready to rack to tank, bentonite fine and sterile filter next month.

These wines are freaking delicious! Get on the berserkers. Erica makes some of the very best wines in Washington and hands down the best Chenin.
