That’s actually a very interesting article - sort of a tribute more than a truly descriptive article, and one to be HUGELY proud of. It’s good to be loved by Jancis!!
Alex, let’s not get ahead of ourselves… he wrote a little code… but it US, the users of CT, that have made it what is is… anybody can write code, but to go out and learn about wine, build a collection, and input into CT, drink it, write a note, etc…that is where th real work is done… code, schmode
What Scott said. I have spent countless hours writing notes, arranging events on that site. That’s real work not those 100+ hour weeks Eric’s spent writing code…
Seriously, congrats Eric and you should receive something middle of next week
Chickens and eggs, eggs and chickens. Yes I work hard, but anything I do is dwarfed by the contribution and content and participation of the community. At this point CT is not about me or my code but about the users. It is a living, breathing thing.
I know you’re just screwing with Eric, but I think it’s important to point out that not only did Eric “write code”, but he designed a user interface that was at the same time intuitive, powerful, and took advantage of the web to revolutionize access to cellar management.
