Does stink that she hasn’t gotten it yet; hope it somehow works out for her .
My now non-minor daughter recently applied and chose the expedited service and expedited mailing (a separate fee). The start date shows about a week after we went to the post office . So hopefully we will see it in 8-10 weeks after that. She has no firm travel date , but my wife and her will probably go somewhere in the late summer (if she has the passport ).
CBP is super backed up atm. Idk if any of you have tried to renew global entry lately but the next appointments in many cases are like 2-3 years out. I renewed mine when I came back from Europe which is always an option you have.
Apparently they got rid of the online appointment system when a hacker figured out how to book ALL appointments and sold them online for profit - rather than fix the bug, they move to a phone-only system. Smart.
worth a shot, but I still have no idea if the case worker can even get through to the passport offices - also, afraid that will slow things down, you know? We’re going to ask where it is if we get through to someone and I will fly her up there to pick up in person if we know we can get it tomorrow
since a few do seem to be ok with the play-by-play…here’s the latest:
called the passport office, they won’t allow it to be printed and picked up, not in LA and not in San Francisco where it is being processed, has to ship, wouldn’t budge on that to the point where he hung up when pressed lol - so now we have a tracking number and hope it ships today and arrives tomorrow, or we just put her on standby for another flight as soon as she has it
Poor guy doesn’t have enough stress? FWIW, I had the USPS deliver a “last mile” package to me on Tuesday that didn’t leave the facility until noon. Pulling for you and your daughter, Todd
Called the local Post Office, Express mail comes in separate trucks - one very early (it wasn’t on this) - and one around 10:30-11:30am so here’s to hoping…
The PO worker I spoke with took my number to call me when the next Express truck comes in, as she said it’s only a dozen or so packages at a time, so it’s easy to find.
