Wow, Brig,
That one really dates you (and me): 1910 Fruitgum Company.
I like Ed’s wines a lot also–always well made, some of the best QPR’s out there.

Ed is super nice! He recorded a podcast with me for my Indie Wine podcast 2 days before the start of harvest this year. Great wines too.

Probably should have saved this for Thanksgiving but held up perfectly for the Laotian restaurant.

Yeah, much love for Ed. He’s well over a bin and a decade of vintages in my cellar. A perennial buy.

I guess if I had a question, what would you make (@Ed_Kurtzman) if you had a hidden lab with all the toys (varietals)? What’s that wine you’d make (that you haven’t) if hurdles were not a barrier.

I’ve loved everything I’ve tasted, was something that always sat in the back of my mind when I have.

Ed needs to make the white rhone blend again. That stuff was amazing. Up there with Terecro rousanne

I asked Ed a similar question on the podcast and at least that day he mentioned - for Pinot specifically, from Oregon or Okanagan Valley and for other varieties Chenin Blanc, A Marsanne Roussanne and a Grenache Blanc.

Brig, I didn’t make that Rosé, my assistant made it. His name is Justin Massa and he specializes in Rosé, but he pretty much makes great wine with whatever he’s working with. I’m glad you liked it.

Rich, just like Matt mentioned, I’d like to make white Rhones again, especially Grenache Blanc. I haven’t made Chenin since I left Chalone in 1998, so that’s high on the list. I just fermented a Cab Franc/Cab Sauv blend that will be further blended with Merlot, so that’s a first for me. Thanks for all the compliments.

I was at a big get together, friends giving, with 30 bottles of various excellent wines from around the world. This was the best pinot and top 3 of the lineup for me and a few others. A friend that’s in the business said “I love Ed he’s a great guy” and then tasted the wine and said “oh my goodness”

First, I help Ed bottle his wines and other wineries in his facility so I may be a wee bit prejudiced. Just a tad. His wines are terrific and he is a great guy to boot. I’m always happy to help out.

Yes, Justin Massa is the Rosé Whisperer. One bottling day a year is Rosé All Day. Typically, Justin has one or two that he’s made for personal use, that is not part of a bonded winery. They’re great.

I’ll be there on the 10th, assisting where needed.

Thanks for passing along the open house info, Brig. There will be a lot of really good wine to taste there on Sunday. I’ll be helping to pour at the event, and so will Wes Barton and Larry Stein. Hope to see some Berserkers there! :wine_glass:

This thread got me. In for the Fall 6 pack.

You’ll be back. LOL

umm… I didn’t read the offers at the bottom when I posted about the open house. I see the 2022 Bien Nacido in there, wonder if I have any of those in the box I just received, the 2021 BN PN is the shit.

Bien Nacido is a great vineyard. Massive too

Stupid sunset tonight, don’t worry, the flash flood warnings are up and the rains are coming Thursday for a week.

We don’t do that in my little corner of Wyoming.

Well, not if we want to continue using that glass and drinking any more wine out of the bottle or any more of the wine in that glass.

Just sayin’ . . . .

Just destroyed a 2022 Boer, it’s fantastic. I’ll do the CT things when I collect my notes and thoughts.

My scribbles…

Brick coloring
Bright and lively
Wafts of vanilla, red fruit
Cherry, primary
Raspberry, secondary
Good acidity, mouth puckering
Bramble
Slight Halls things going on
Lighter than it looks, in the best way
Late back-end watermelon fade out?
Brilliant
