We will be there in early April and wondered if anyone can recommend any of the wineries around the square and nearby. I’ve never seen them on anyone’s radar nor have we visited any in all the trips there.

There are a ton of new tasting rooms that have opened up downtown - but many of these are larger brands just offering second locations. Wineries like Justin now offer tastings downtown. Serial wines is there as well - can’t say I’ve had their wines but their tasting room is fancy

Thanks Larry. It seems the number of downtown tasting rooms has doubled since we were there in 2021.
In the Square area specifically, not much to get excited about, but Paso Wine Merchant is close and has tastings, with a very good wine selection, and usually are tasting some of the better wineries. Someone mention Herman Story, which is pretty close. Then of course Tin City, also mentioned, is a couple minute drive, but has some real quality.
In TinCity, don’t miss Giorionato. Very interesting Italian varietals.

We were there recently and couldn’t hit all we wanted, but there is a great wine store downtown called Grapes and Grains. They have a large selection of local wines. I bought a mixed case of local Grenache to try later. I found a few we really liked and placed online orders later. Kind of our attempt at speed tasting.
Try and hit Linne Calodo if you can. It was our best overall tasting.
Linne Calodo is on the list. I bought their very first vintage a long time ago.

We were their in 2021 and thought the wines were pretty lean and nothing special at the time. We’ll be in TC a couple of days and may fit them in. Walk-ins are easy their.
