Domaine Wine Storage--Alternatives

Greetings and Happy Holidays Fellow Berserkers.

I have locker full of wine stored with Domaine Wine Storage (formerly LLK). Their 3-week holiday delivery hiatus (request deadline of Dec. 16, and then no deliveries until; Jan. 6) coupled with their inability to accommodate a timely delivery request in less than a week lead me to conclude that it is time to look at other options.

I would appreciate and be interested to read about your recommendations.

Cheers!

As the owner of domaine, I’m surprised to read your post. We go out of our way to make accommodations and have not heard a word from our team about issues you may be having.

Please email me directly at marc@cellaradvisors.com

Thanks

they are closed for three weeks so you can’t walk in and grab your wine?

We are not closed for 3 weeks, have never been closed for 3 weeks, and have not changed any timing policies since taking over 2 yrs ago. Im not sure what the goal is of this thread, but we tend to handle these matters directly with our customers 99% of the time.

Fair question Charlie. Domaine is only closed next week I believe. But as a practical matter, that means I could only drive over and grab my wine this week during their normal business hours. I am in NYC, and this is a work week for me so it is not an option.

Also to be clear, my reference to the 3-week delivery hiatus was from a customer perspective: last day for orders for holiday delivery is Dec. 16, and a 3-week wait until Jan. 6 at the earliest for any delivery request received after today.

Marc, I see no point in debating the details here. Suffice it to say that several e-mails were exchanged before I posted here, and they did not address my dissatisfaction. I am waiting to hear back from Michael and I will e-mail you once I do. Let’s leave it at that.

As a satisfied Domaine client something about this story just doesn’t ring true.

I live in Puerto Rico and Domaine Chicago is my main USA storage. Their service has been impeccable and their communication top notch. This thread is uncharacteristic to their performance and questionable both in form and in content.

Yeah, can’t see how they could do that at this partying time of year. I recall getting an email about their holiday hours but I didn’t pay attention to it.

I’ll pile on to say that I have nothing but good experiences with Domaine (NJ-NY) and their customer service. Always prompt to respond and work with me when I need wine inventoried or pulled on short notice. I’ve had minor billing issues that were quickly resolved to my satisfaction and am confident if I had any major issues, they would be as well.

+3 based on my DC domaine experience. Also I am not as time sensitive in my needs.

As manager of a wine storage facility in Los Angeles, I routinely recommend Domaine. Best in the biz, by far. When potential new customers moving from the East to LA call, we refer them to Domaine. The feedback is always positive. Happy to be piling on.

I am glad all of you have had such a positive experience with Domaine. Based on their reputation I understand your responses. I was very surprised by this situation as well, which did not ring true to me either. I want to acknowledge that I finally did get some accommodation from Domaine on the delivery.

also a happy domaine dc customer here…
but would love to hear more details of the incident to figure out what is the issue, and how is it ultimately resolved?
i don’t have any holiday season shipping needs this year, but i think the community could benefit from your experiences should the need arise in the future.
