Midnight Run is an amazing charity that brings food, clothing and toiletries etc from the suburbs into Manhattan for the homeless.
It is run by a close friend, Dale Williams, a member of this board, and I would really like to put this together, as I have a feeling, that over the next few months, a lot of people are going to slip through the cracks and become homeless.
It would be a lunch at MP Taverna, which is next to the station in Irvington NY. Not sure on cost and other logistics, but wanted to gauge interest.
Domaine de Chevalier has some of the finest vineyards in all of Bordeaux. A bit of a hidden treasure, the older wines that I have tasted lately have been utterly brilliant.
I A few years ago, I did one for our tasting group, and it was one of the better ones we did.
Midnight Run is a very special charity. It is unique in that it brings groups from churches, synagogues schools, etc into the city with food, clothing toiletries for the homeless. What makes it special is the fact that they come face-to-face with people who have slipped through the cracks and now sleep on the streets; and they can put faces to the people they are helping.
I think this was brought home to us , when my son was on a run, and someone called out his name. It was one of his former soccer coaches.
There has been a fairly steep rise in a number of homeless people, and the need has become more pressing. I think this will be a great cause to bring so much needed money to them.
Assuming I can get 16 people, I will have Domaine de Chevalier from the following vintages. Venue TBD but it will be in Westchester.
