Detroit-- Detroit-style pizza

Who has the best Detroit-style pizza in Detroit/Metro Detroit?

I was working in MI this week and picked up a couple of pizzas from Michigan and Trumbull (Corktown) on my way home.
They were REALLY GOOD! I got one red, one white. We had them for dinner last night. I haven’t had much Detroit-style and would love to know if there are any must tries. I’ve had Buddy’s, but it’s been years.
Any recommendations out there? I’m in MI every month.

Loui’s (not Louie’s) is the other one that gets all the pub, though I have never tried it in my 32 years living in Michigan.

Growing up in the Detroit suburbs our biggest treat on Friday nights was pizza from the original - Cloverleaf on Gratiot.

We live in Metro Detroit and with two young kids eat a lot of pizza. You can’t go wrong with Loui’s or Cloverleaf. Hands down the two best traditional Detroit style places. Michigan and Trumbull is incredible as well, but with toppings that are less traditional. Buddy’s has never really done it for me, I find all of these other places superior in just about every way.

I found Michigan & Trumbull on the list below. I chose it for the less traditional toppings. Grandma Bob’s looks interesting, too.
I will definitely check out Cloverleaf and Loui’s on future visits. We love pizza!

In addition to the other places, Como’s in Ferndale is very good.

For thin crust round Supino’s is worth a journey.BigaLora and Tomatos apizza are also very good.

If you’re not committed to driving all over the Detroit Metro area, Buddy’s is a perfectly good example of Detroit style pizza.

I assume the new ownership has worked out well?
