Dessert Last Night

After I returned from pouring at the gallery opening, we had a pleasant 1993 Ridge Zinfandel Maple Vineyard (part of Lytton Springs) - fill just below the cork; good dark ruby-garnet in color; rich, bright spicy berries in nose and flavors; good acidity, balance, and rich berries in the mid-palate; and and long spicy berry finish. It was enjoyable with the following cheeses - Chaumes, Sottocenere (Italian truffle cheese), Hudson Valley Sheep’s Milk Camembert, & Goat Boucheron; along with TJ’s Jumbo Raisin Medley and mixed nuts.

Dick, the Maple Vineyard is a favorite of a friend of mine. She recently gave me a bottle of 2004 Passalacqua from that vineyard. We enjoyed it with dry rubbed baby back pork ribs last week. Lots of layers to the wine. Spice and dark berry as you mentioned.

I haven’t found many notes on Maple whilst perusing the boards and CT.

We got some as part of the Ridge ATP. We haven’t had very many, but we’ve enjoyed what we’ve had.
