Decades 5 Petit Verdot Stagecoach Vineyard

I received an email offer for this 100% Petit Verdot, made by Jean Hoefliger of Alpha Omega. I don’t remember anything about it, or signing up for the mailing list. At $145/each, I’d like to know more about this wine before considering a purchase. Anyone had this or know more about it? Text of email offer is below.

Dear Friends,

After much anticipation, we are now beginning to ship the inaugural vintage of Decades 5 Petit Verdot!

The 2008 vintage was bottled in August 2010 and has been aging in our cellar for the past 8 months. By allowing this wine to mature in bottle, it has become more integrated and has developed into a wine that will provide both instant drinking pleasure and longevity for those patient connoisseurs.

Our small production, single vineyard wine is available on a limited basis only to our mailing list members.

If you have not ordered our 2008 vintage, please visit our website at http://www.decades5.com to join our mailing list, review your allocation, and purchase our wine.

We thank you for your support!

Regards,
Decades 5

I tasted this with Gary V a couple of months back before its release and thought it was wound up like a top. I think if it’s a wine you decide to buy, keep your hands off for a couple of years. Big, big structure and ultra-inky color.

Nice avatar, Jim!

Thanks Jon. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a 100% PV. I might hold off and try and taste it the next time I’m in Napa.

Glad you like the avatar Bob. I like yours as well.

It is indeed a really cool wine. Very concentrated and powerful and that will for sure age quite well. It is 100% PV, 100% Stagecoach and 100% barrel fermented
