Costco undercutting dN. What a time to be alive.
Yes, he was. Awesome human being.
Not for longâŚour T1 price was waaaaay better as was our recent sale price. I agreed with them to frontline these high and discount them privately, which is what we are doing. We are actually sending out a coupon code to our existing customer list today so our price will be waaaay better again.
Was CC decent wine? I donât know if I ever drank it. At its peak I was in grad school drinking yellow tail.
I paid $18 during last week dN sale. Cam had a coupon for BD yesterday. All about timing! ![]()
I understand it all ships from the same place. Just wanted case #1 to go to one address (NJ) and case #2 to go to another (FL) for the 2 case option. Probably wouldnât go in otherwise. I was assuming 2 cases would be two UPS shipments anyway, but maybe wrong about that?
Right now I have zero de Negoce wines, a few hundred to spend, and extra storage space. What would the fine folks here recommend to get this hoarding started? We mostly drink California reds, GSMs, Chablis and bubbles.
Thanks!
With a couple hundred to spend, wait for a big sale. 30-40% off all of a group of reds or something like that. (You said you have plenty of space so your biggest goal needs to be to spend easily to fill up that lonely space) they come every couple of months. ( though the big sale season has passed. But more always come)
Go for 2018-19 rather that new releases for your first go as they are more approachable and your budget of couple hundred would be blown on 2 new release cases . (A luxury many early joiners didnât have)
I find the 2019 Washington reds to have been the earliest approachable and the Napa 2019 are starting to come around. 2018 Napa is still coming aroundâŚbuy some but decant
Have fun
Sound counsel
Good advise, Luke.
Meanwhile, there are 4 different samplers available, under the âCollectionsâ tab.
Cheers & Enjoy ![]()
Also, I anticipate Tranche 1 offerings from Australia and perhaps France ( fingers crossed) to be presented within the next 60 days.
Well you came to the right place. Keep the Amex handy , watch what Cam brings out. Lot of good reds especially Cabs.
âExtra storage spaceâ - first time I think Iâve seen that mentioned in this thread! ![]()
For GSMs I am liking N.303 right now.
As others have mentioned, hold out for some sales.
Sounds like the 303 GSM is getting some positive attention, think I will retrieve mine from Long Term Storage. Looking for something to keep me from consuming the 18 Napa Cabs. before their time to shine.
Just my opinion on specific wines to try. Wait for a sale.

Good list Hughes! I have them all except 54.
I tried 198, 240, 25, 141. ALL GOOD! ![]()
Yet to drink 150 & 250, expecting them to be good, also.
All CS, no PNâs??? hmmmmâŚ
I also like N.195. Cam still has that at 40% off with the dribs and drabs sale.
I need help understanding something. As part of the recent Blackbird Bonanza I purchased a few bottles of the 2017 Premiere Napa Valley bottling. This 10 case lot was purchased by Garyâs for the equivalent of $267/bottle. If Garyâs bought all of the wine produced, how is it possible that Blackbird ends up having some available for Cameron? $267 a bottle on auction and a few years later I pay $39/bottle. It boggles the mind. Cameron?
Canât wait to try the 2011 pnvs I scored. In lts because stupid winter.
As Cameron recently indicated, the Aussie Shirazâs were not yet selling as well as the Aussie Cabs however, I will share that Lot 280 Shiraz has finally turned a corner and was very, very enjoyable indeed after a reasonable decant this evening.
Side note: I am an Englishman living in America for almost 15 years now plus I previously lived in France for around 10 years in total. Aussie wines have never got me excited or âhad me purse outâ before dN enticed me to frankly. Nothing to do with the Colonial history either of course
I had purchased a case of Lot 354 Shiraz a while back based on Cameronâs stellar write-up although I was a tad concerned based on my experience of the first 3 bottles of Lot 280âŚ
I think I can put this âworryâ to bed now and so I literally just ordered a case of Lot 356 based on my enjoyment of my 4th attempt at Lot 280 plus the following uniquely bold and indeed enticing language:
" Bold, rich, ripe and chewy, its combines opulence and succulence with a terrific structure and tension leading to a silky, magic carpet ride of a finish. Trust me, this wine really punches the umami button and will leave you with a purple-stained teeth and a huge, sht-eating grin on your face".*
My Jack Russell Terrier, when she was a puppy, used to eat (other dog) sh*t off the streets of Paris and have this giant grin on her face afterwardsâŚbloody odd and seriously alarming to us however, her own satisfaction and glee was undeniable / unmistakable. I used to have to brush her teeth afterwardsâŚca, câest lâamour! I think I appreciate Cameronâs analogy (albeit in my own uniquely referenced way:-).
Parable of the story is, try these remarkable QPR dN Aussie Shiraz offerings, folks!
