De Negoce offer (Part 2)

The 2023 Opus was bottled in 2025. A lot first being bottled in November 2026 has sat about three years. My guess is it’s a lot held back for blending into Overture, the non-vintage second wine.

Overture is right at $200 no? So really can’t be that.

" Prices for this direct from the winery are a country mile over $200 a pop, so we are absolutely ecstatic that our negotiations have brought it down to only $27/bottle ."

Country Mile = $400-$500 a bottle?

Country mile = $201? Last Bottle says “way under $30” when it is $29. Pretty sure these types of sites play really fast and loose with value/price descriptors.

@MatthewT I had posted some visual proof that 622 was what you thought it was (I know you didn’t doubt that!)

Decided to take it down as I didn’t want to do harm to club members or the winery itself by posting visual proof, as others did pay more directly. Thinking back to the winespies thread from a few weeks ago.

Also linked a thread where a WB member had visited, and where a high level person at that winery mentioned that they preferred their mountain ‘22’s over their 23s as the late heat helped the high elevation fruit

Ah, thanks for letting me know. Yah, I mean there was 100% chance it was that since we know what the others were and it was a shiner. Mine are on the way too!

Wow. Didn’t buy. Too much wine.

Probably good news for me. I put it in my cart, but didn’t pull the trigger as I just don’t need more wine right now between what I have and what’s en route.

And another one…

They use the word “volcanic” four times in that description. For comparison, they use “gravel,” “red rocks” and “lake” zero times.

Diamond Creek — Volcanic Hill that was destined for 3 Vineyard Blend? Would be interesting since Gravelly Meadow was my guess on that CamX

Which is still live but not listed on the futures page for Cam as well, btw.

Let me ask this question just to play devil’s advocate, what would be other options besides Diamond Creek? Consistent 100 point winemaking team is really the only clue, right?

Vineyardist and Lokoya. A similar discussion as Lot 24/97. The only hard clues…they sell $200+ wine, have scored 100 at least once, volcanic soil, and diamound mountain. Unless we have some others that I don’t know of.

This is certainly interesting. It’s hard to differentiate this from lots 24/97. When you factor in shipping and rewards, this is cheaper than the Cam versions. As much as I would like to do a head to head comparison, I think I need to pass. It feels like dN is finding its groove these days. I just don’t need another regular source of unnamed wine.

More importantly seeing this offer made me log in to the dN website and check my order history. Turns out I have a case that’s been sitting at Walgreens waiting for pickup for almost two weeks. I just called and miraculously they hadn’t sent it back yet.

Except I drank some bottles of Archival the last few days (Sunrise Merlot BDX Blend, Obsidian Cab, and Archivist) and they are honestly some of the best wines I’ve had all year. All easily 94-95+ scoring wines. Unnamed but Bobby Moy doing some magic. They all meet and/or exceed CamX Lot 19.
