De Negoce offer (Part 2)

This article specifically talks about Ed Sbragia & Moon Mountain

Did you read it: “The first Moon Mountain wine I remember tasting was a Cabernet Sauvignon from Ed Sbragia about 15 years ago.”

Ed has had a wine of the year and been named winemaker of the year so it works, just can’t find wine he has made in years.

I have an alternative source guess for Lot 588, but really struggling with this one. We actually have a fair number of clues to go by on this one, so surprised the community hasn’t nailed it yet. I appear to have some credits I need to use up at dN (one final purchase?)
any other thoughts on either 588 or 601? Love Moon Mountain

Props for the guess, some likelihood, but Jim Momtazee bought Moon Mountain Vineyard in 2011, so it likely doesn’t fit the “generational” timeline. I don’t see any winemaker of the year or strong accolades for the winemaker, though I read he knows what he’s doing!

Erich Bradley is winemaker - formerly winemaker/owner of Sojourn - so assumed those designations were part of past resume. Agree it’s a stretch, but not many 14% ABV 100% CS Moon Mountain options to choose from
and this checks off many of the boxes.

No offers.
However, our Morning walk was beautiful:

Cheers! Have a great day. :kissing_heart:

Attempting to revive this thread in advance of dN’s pending Black Friday sale. It’s been a hot minute since I purchased anything, but have some credits I need to burn through
and sounds like this’ll be the time to do it. Are there any particular red lots post-500 that people have their eye on if priced right (and nobody better mention 550)? 553 got a ton of love, but appears to have sold out. I’m hoping some of the more recent offerings get added to the bottle shop for the Black Friday sale (595, 598, etc.). But if it stays with current offerings only, I suppose I’m currently most interested in 515 & 554. What is everyone else eyeing?

Can’t wait for PCH to open again this spring. We drove to Big Sur last weekends and it was a blast despite being on a time crunch. It would be great to visit Cayucos for the brown sugar cookies and Morro’s Bay for CamX and seafood next yearđŸ€Ș

Kha,
Everything you said, I agree! It’s all so good.
Coming from the south, Highway 1 is open well past Ragged Point (recommended, too), all the way to the Treebones Resort.
Can’t get to Lucia, CA, closed due to the landslides. :four_leaf_clover: :wine_glass: :turkey:

If 515 is available at a reasonable price, I would definitely get it. I have tried one bottle several months ago. It was excellent. Now that you mention it, time for a second one over the weekend. If it has improved and the price is right, maybe buy more.

Nice Scott. While I passed on the Lot 600, Lot 601 is on its way east.
Happy Thanksgiving, keep us posted on Lot 515.

Came here to see if there were any guesses on the 590 Zinfandel (today’s black Friday sale), saw this and did a little look around. Ed Sbragia’s own Sbragia Winery was put up for sale last fall (citing low visitation to the tasting room), so could be they are selling some of their wine off. Not a bad guess at all. Not sure I can find a dry creek Zin that cost $70.

I was hoping Martinelli Giuseppe & Luisa. Pretty good match, except the time in oak. Probably wishful thinking.

Did some research and came away with this as well.
