Based on how DeNegoce handled last summer’s shipments, is anyone else reluctant to make a purchase as we head into this summer? I think the ordering window for Texas destinations has passed until at least September. I understand why it is no more, but miss the $5/order LTS storage. Although I would also appreciate a complimentary, or nominal charge, to hold shipments until fall. Which they did offer last year as well, until they didn’t.
Absolutely. Last Summer’s experience is a killer for me, Chris. If #459 had been offered a month or two back, with shipping by now, I might have been in. But by the “late May” shipping date (or more likely mid-June or later if past experience holds) the weather here in DFW will offer up only more pain.
Totally different team and operation running this ship now. Also I live in SD so never that worried about summer shipping.
I’m less worried about it this yr compared to last summer .
I’m in Texas and with their climate controlled shipping to Dallas area and then seems to just spend one night getting to SA and I have it shipped to a fed ex store where it seems to arrive in the morning. So that should system gives me confidence I’m not having it slowly trek across Arizona and west Texas for 4 days and then 2-3’days in the truck if I’m not home to sign for it.
I just wish ice packs weren’t $20! That seems exorbitant.
I think they have to use a different shipping material (styrofoam?) also because the ice packs sweat
Unfortunately, a quick check, and while it’s a bordeaux blend, it’s quite a bit more expensive than $100+ and nearly 100% new oak (2021 vs. 40% for the 2022 dN).
A bunch of other options, but I don’t have time to dig today, didn’t see any 40% new oak, 60% was the min.
It did get me tempted though…

There are a bunch of new wines listed in the bottle shop as the spring shiners collection. All under 50 cases available.

The Napa Chardonnay has a higher alcohol % than the three Napa cabs they are offering….14.6%

Get me something better man.
Cheers, Tim
Where do you see this? I don’t see any spring shiners collection.
It’s the first 4 offers in the bottle shop
Ah I see now. They are very interesting. Two of the reds don’t even tell you what it sells for at the winery!!!
I will buy some of these but wait for a big discount. If they sell out, so be it.
Wow! Those prices are up there.
I just bought some 98 pt. Tensley Syrah and some 97 pt. Duckhorn Merlot for the same price. Known quantities with consistent histories.
