De Negoce offer (Part 1)

I think he mentioned that since they are bottling next week, you should plan to hold for a couple months before drinking. Or have them hold it through the summer.

It’s a $13 wine that you have a case of. Open one up!

$10 Sta Rita Hills Pinot actually reviewed w/ a 92 score.

This guy is going to make me run out of wine storage space very very soon.

Walt Pinot maybe? Has the same score and price as mentioned in the offer.

Woah 14.5% ABV. I like Sta Rita Hills Pinots but not that hot.

Can’t find alcohol % for Walt anywhere.

14.9 for the 2018 & 2017 it appears from zooming in on the labels

Could be:

Rasi 2017 Rancho La Vina Pinot Noir

Price & ABV match up.

La Crema has a similar profile…

Prob not this

“14.5% alc., 200 cases, $45, screw cap. Aged 10 months in 1 to 4-year-old French oak barrels. ·”

Small production. Doubt they then sold 500-1000 cases bulk. Also barrels different.

Surprised that high. Anyway, not that.

Type of Oak: 100% French; 21% new
Time in Barrel: 15 months

It would have to match if he is quoting a 92 point score…would have to be exact same wine or it’s kinda fraud.

I’m going to hedge my bet with two guesses:

Luna Vineyards Winemaker’s Reserve Pinot Noir 2017
Brewer-Clifton 2017 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills)

Well done. Has to be Luna. Exact same barrels, price, and alcohol.

I can’t find any barrel info on Brewer-Clifton or really anything on the 2017 so doubt its that.

Luna: TASTING NOTES

Rhubarb, strawberry and forest leaves on the nose; rich bramble berry, rhubarb, earth, and cocoa on the palate

de Negoce:

Whole-cluster-fermented and finished in neutral oak, this wine is impressive for its purity. Pretty aromas of strawberry puree and spicy black cherry give way to vanilla-kissed raspberry and cola notes. Rhubarb and underbrush are supported on sappy, lip-smacking acidity in a long, sustained finish haloed with lilac and rose petals.

Luna also exact score and alcohol. And >1000 cases so easily could sell 500-1000 excess in a private label.

Cameron’s either sitting in his office laughing at this or saying “damn, these guys are good!”

Or he’s just pricing an Aston Martin lol

Good for him if he is!

Agreed! I hope he is.

To his credit, this is the first one anyone has gotten out of the 7. The others were too vague or were not exact clones from a winery and thus impossible to figure out.
