My friend whose company is the US importer of Egon Muller (among other producers) is organizing a trade tasting later this month in DC (many of the producers being shown will have representatives from the winery there, who will also be at the dinner described below). He wants to have a consumers’ dinner that evening. He’d be pouring the current EM releases, plus a couple of older wines, some current releases from Unterlind (Mosels made by the winemaker for EM and beautiful wines), and some of his other imports, including multiple older vintages of Leoville Barton. The dinner will be at Bar Spero here in DC and he’s passing through his cost - which doesn’t include the wines. Bar Spero isn’t charging corkage and my friend is supplying all of the wines. Expect, with taxes and surcharges levied by the restaurant, something just under $200. But a really nice menu and a small group.
