Moving in to the Sebastiani facility . . . and it sounds as if Bill Foley is now a sizable ‘investor’. The article also states that the company is still looking for an additional $2.5 - 3 Million - you got it lying around?!?!
Cheers!

I think it’s a good move, even though the vineyards I source from will now not be quite as close as they were when Crushpad was on the Silverado Trail. The first thing that struck me when I visited the Napa location was that it wasn’t big enough. The second move was more or less inevitable given that.
Napa production facility was very crowded. CP was under a one year lease there. New location will (hopefully) provide more room on the production side (IIRC CP gets about 4,000 sq ft) plus onsite barrel storage, CP’s own dedicated tasting room (about 1,000 sq ft) and a location in the same building as Sebastiani a few blocks from the Sonoma Square. Sebastiani gets 60,000 visitors per year and CP hopes to capture some of that business too. Bill Foley is a new minority equity holder in CP. Napa location was a step up from the Dogpatch (old SF location) in a lot of ways but I am thinking this will be better still overall.
One question I have is whether the Sebastiani customers will buy wines made at CP which will generally be at higher price points. CP is planning to put in high tech wine tasting and education kiosks that may help draw in new customers.

Since we source fruit from east, south, north and west of Sonoma, I am happy about the move. Plus a lot of good choices within easy walking distance. I’ll just sign up for tastings at Sojourn every day.

The article was a little off. CP just closed a funding round of close to 3m with the last bit coming from the Foley Group. We are excited about the new digs for ourselves and our clients. Hope everyone will come check it out this Summer!
Any chance there might be another round of mystery case sales?
Yeah JJ- more of those mystery cases- there was some killer juice in those with Jenny’s crazy labels.

Seriously. I loved the whale label and the monkey label. The wines were very nice as well. There was a Gap’s Crown pinot that rocked. The only poor wine was the Gold Digger white. yuck.
Yeah, I loved that Syrah with the whale and the crazy blue eyelashes. Label didn’t say, but I think that Syrah was Whitehawk juice. Haven’t drunk my bottle of the late harvest zin with the monkey on it - that thing clocks in it at like 18.5% alc so I gotta brace myself for that one. I don’t think I got the Gap’s Crown Pinot. I did get a couple of bottles of Russian Rive Valley Pinot that are just OK to good but on a QPR basis were still a great deal.

Yeah , the Gold Digger chard was nothing special but the Gold Digger Zin was very nice. Overall, that mystery case was probably my wine deal of the year…in a year when there were so many wine deals to be had.
