Tonight’s supper, on a warm, but comfortable evening on our patio, was crab salad - seasoned with SI Spicy Seafood Seasoning, Key-Lime Pepper, onion powder, ground celery seed, granulated garlic, chervil, and capers; all mixed with Carollee’s homemade mayonnaise, a little Crême Frâiche, and a dash of Tahitian Lime Olive Oil. The dressing for the greens was Key Lime Pepper, celery seed, onion powder, granulated garlic, chervil rehydrated and mixed with half EVOO and half Tahitian Lime Olive Oil with Champagne Vinegar. All was enjoyed with a 2008 Alois Lageder Rosato of Lagrein from Alto Adige - fill under the capsule; cork barely colored; rich nose and flavors of strawberries and cherries; mid-palate of good acidity and bright fruit; with a medum bright fruit finish.
Key Lime Pepper? That sounds interesting. Where do you get it/what brand?
I got it at either Whole Foods or Kaune’s. The brand is Spice Hunter. Good Luck!
Oh, by the way, the mix is salt-free. It’s a citrus and pepper blend. The ingredients are: lime juice powder, black pepper, garlic. thyme, onion, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, & habañero chile.
Figures. I think the closest Whole Foods is 2 hours away.
Warm evening, Dick? You had snow a couple days ago…or was that weeks? We are having a cooling trend. Need my summer.
We have had lots of salads with avo and fresh farmer market 'maters. Love this season.
My mixed case of French whites and Provencal Rose arrived. Life is good!
Actually our last snow was the end of April. We’ve had daytime temps in the 80s for the last two or three weeks. That’s why we’ve been eating dinner outside.
Wow, 80s already! We are stuck in the low to mid 60s today. Gloomy and it even sprinkled the past two nights. Gloomier than normal. I miss the sun!
Our last overcast day was May 16. It’s been sunny with just a few clouds since then. Since the beginning of February (when i started keeping track) we’ve had 108 sunny days and 28 overcast days
C’mon Dick… as badly as Santa Fe needs tourists this year, tell these people the truth !
Last Saturday (the 5th) it was 100 here in Santa Fe; broke a record for the day. Mid 90’s the Thursday and Friday before as well as the Sunday and Monday after. Cooling began Tuesday and it is indeed mid 80’s again now (and really windy).
Certainly patio dining time if only the gnats here is Tesuque would disappear.

Bob-
We’re enough higher than Santa Fe (200 or more feet), it never got out of the 80s at our house. The higher temps were at the airport.
