Cote d'Azur eats

Any recent favorites in Nice, Monaco, or anywhere in between?

Spending four nights in Beaulieu Sur Mer, I figure we will go to Nice for one dinner and Monaco for another, wanted to see if anyone had recent experiences with any of the top places or hidden gems (hidden gem winelists also appreciated!). In Nice we are tentatively going to Restaurant Jan (** South African/French). In Monaco looking at either Louis XV (probably longer more intense meal than I care for), le Grille upstairs, or Blue Bay.

Hope to make it to either Chateau Eza or Chevre d’or for lunch one day as well.

No kids this time.

TIA

Les Agitateurs in Nice and Le Vieux Mur in Antibes were both very good.If you have a car Le Vieux Mur has valet parking which is wonderful.

We spent a couple of weeks in Nice in January.

Drank and ate well, mostly leaning natural at: Le Canon, L’Atelier, Lavomatique, La Table Marine,
and Le Glouphile (wine bar).

Favorite meal was Les Plaisirs in the little mountain town of Peillon.

That place seems really cool! Was there anything else interesting nearby?

The 15th-century town is just gorgeous but not really any tourists or shops. Lots of good hiking:

Make sure not to skip the medieval towns in the mountains of Vence and Saint Paul de Vence. Make some time earlier in the trip for Libération Market in Nice. Also had a very nice meal at SPELT in Tourrettes-sur-Loup.

Get a drink at Bar Fitzgerald and see where Zelda threw herself down the stairs and Hemmingway stayed during A Moveable Feast. Ask if you can take your drink down to the beach.

Lots of good art and architecture if you search the other threads.

That’s the first part of our trip actually, staying in St Paul de Vence for a few nights.

We enjoyed Restaurant Jan, Les Plasiers and Le Chantecler the most on our trip in 2023

Look at Clovis and Spelt in Tourettes sur Loup, both were closed for the season, otherwise we would have booked.

Lavomatique in Nice is very nice for more casual, yet still very high standard of cooking.

How are the wine lists there?

I have not seen the wine lists, but I think they both have some wines to drink.

La Table Marine and Le Glouphile have the same owner and quite a bit of wine.
That said, the big names are not inexpensive in Nice.
