they just have random “wild” salmon. It’s just labeled wild alaskan salmon with no specific note of where it’s from other than the state, it’s priced at $5.99. (at least near me, YMMV for price)
We got this morning a beautiful filet of Copper River Sockeye from our Whole Foods for $16.99/lb. Not as cheap as Costco, but a lot closer and handier. It was a whole bunch better than a week or two ago’s price at WF.
How’d they do with the filleting? Last year I tried WF twice in ABQ and they butchered it. More bones than meat. No clue what they did. I returned it both times as inedible
Actually it was reasonably well done. The part of the filet closest to the gills had a few bones, not much anywhere else. It was rich, fatty, and flavorful; notes to come.
