Copper River Sockeye - $10.99/lb

That’s for fillets if you’re lucky enough to live in an area (Portland, Seattle) that has a QFC market. You need one of their special cards, but that’s easily enough handled. It was good.

Anyone who has travertine floors can afford to pay what the market will bear. [berserker.gif]

It’s $11.99 here at QFC but I was told it will be dropping more in the next few weeks. Seems like I’m eating this stuff every other day.

What he said.

That’s bizarre. Maybe they’re giving you the “family discount”.

Oh, like DFW has no traffic. [rolleyes.gif]

that’s what I was thinking. but damn you anyway. $25+/lb here

Without the “card”, it’s $22.99 at QFC and most everywhere else. CR King is $35+. NFW.

Carlsbad Costco in San Diego has it for $9.99 lb…picked up a nice 1.5lb one this afternoon.

Central Market had CR Kings this morning…wait for it…$45.99 a pound.

Blow Me

WOW! [rofl.gif]

few data points, just the $10 Costco stuff, but am I the only one who finds this stuff overrated?
alan

my thought is that normally salmon is about 5.99 or so a lb for wild salmon , i think Copper River is $4lb better than the normal stuff they carry. Undercook that puppy just a little and it is drool worthy.

I’ve had the King version at a local restaurant and it surpasses Sockeye 10x. Unfortunately you can’t get it at Costco and have to overpay at Whole foods at $35lb O_O

For that price it should blow you. Does it come with the head on? [wow.gif]

Which fantasy world do you live in?

Copper River Sockeye is the best there is in the salmon world. The king is good, sockeye otherworldly. I’ve turned many non-salmon eaters into CRS lovers.

Bill you can fly in CRS for less and it would be fresher.

Charlie… what are you smoking?

i dont’ see what’s so hard to understand when you see the context in which I am typing. Tigger would jump for joy in understanding!

I’ve just never seen salmon at $5.99/lb that looked like anything I’d want to eat. Not sure I’ve seen it at that price in any condition. $9.99 or so seems to be the bottom for farm raised, color added…

did you not read at all what I quoted. We’re talking about Costco here. Costco has Copper River Wild at 9.99 a lb.

Costco has other wild salmon at 5.99 a lb. The quality of the fish is no worse than your local Whole Foods except Costco isn’t gonna rape you from behind thanks to their superb business model.

what is this “other” wild that you speak of?
