Come Meet Kathie Lee Gifford! Hi-Time today

Would a Wineberserker please take a selfie with KLG and post it here? [cheers.gif]

Kathie Lee Gifford will be at Hi-Time to sign bottles of her Gifft Wines on Friday, June 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Gifft wines are a partnership between Kathie Lee Gifford and Scheid Family Wines of Monterey, California.

Kathie Lee says, “It’s well-documented that I’m a wine lover so when I started talking to the Scheid family about making a wine, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. I set out to create wines I would want to drink and serve to friends in my home – an elegant Chardonnay like those I tasted in California in the 1970s and an easy-drinking yet balanced Red Blend.” Heidi Scheid of Scheid Family Wines adds, “What we loved about meeting with Kathie for the first time is how down-to-earth and straightforward she is. She was very clear about her aim – to offer ultra-premium wines at an affordable price. The style she was after was perfectly suited to the Monterey growing region and our own viewpoint.”

Paging Veronica!!!

omfg
roberto, you couldn’t lure her to your store?

Veronica sent this sneak peek:

Do these “celebrity wines” sell? I just heard of another yesterday. Vanilla Puddin.

Sweet

Merciful

Crap [shock.gif]

And way to go for putting that MS certification to good use… [head-bang.gif]

That display has been up for at least two weeks, I was in there and it’s the first thing you see walking past the registers. Front and center!

I wonder how much they had to pay her to say those things…
a MS???

Who in that trio has a MS?

On their landing page:

“This full bodied Chardonnay has aromas of carmelized apple, pineapple and butterscotch. Nuances of vanilla coming from the oak contact are abundant. On the palate, the wine is grippy and weighty. The vanilla, coming from a hefty dose of oak, is front and center and intermingles with the carmelized apple and butterscotch.” – Master Sommelier Virginia Philip

You’ll notice that she doesn’t say she likes or dislikes it, just describes it (although the word “hefty” about the oak seems a bit disparaging)…

Ah, they just paid her for a printable quote/review.

Sounds absolutely gross.

This description is exactly why I avoided CA chard until discovering the likes of Arcadian, Ceritas and Rhys. I guess folks who like Kathie Lee will find this delicious. [snort.gif]

That wine is from the lovely Gabrielle Union , NOT the Giffster. Still probably sucks though…

Brig, you disappoint me, and I’m sorry that Monterey County has anything to do with this thread. [whistle.gif]
