ABOUT US
The connection between Oregon and France has been well-documented since Willamette Valleyâs emergence as a wine region, but for Greg McClellan and MĂ©lissa Rondeau that relationship is far more personal. It was their shared passion for French heritage, food, and wine which led them to create Suzor Wines. Melissa hails from French-speaking QuĂ©bec and built a career working in restaurants in London and Paris. Greg grew up in Northern California, but he spent his childhood visiting his motherâs family in the Loire Valley, where they would visit local vignerons. These youthful experiences inspired the couple to call their winery Suzor, the maiden name of Gregâs grandmother. As an adult, Greg threw himself headlong into wine production, working with some of the leading lights of Oregon wine (Ponzi Vineyards and Hamacher Cellars). Afterward, he traveled to Burgundy to study Viticulture and Enology in Beaune, further honing his craft. Upon his return, Greg sought to create his own wine and Suzor Wines was born with five barrels in the 2011 vintage. Though it has grown since then, Suzor is still very much a family operation and every element done by Greg and Melissa.
OUR STYLE
We craft beautiful wines from cooler sites in the Willamette Valley. We are lucky to work with amazing growers who farm sustainably and organically, with care and intention. We practice low-intervention winemaking, rely on native yeast fermentations and tremendous patience, crafting wines of a time and place. We believe in embracing natureâs beauty without compromise. Youâll find no synthetic herbicides, pesticides, or additives in our wines. Just beautiful fruit. Our goal is to celebrate the beauty of the place we call homeâthe beautiful Willamette Valley and share elegant expressions of Oregon Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, along with some fun new iterations.
Suzor Wines honors our French heritage through Gregâs grandmotherâs maiden name. âI work hard to create wines that resonate with the childhood memories of visiting my grandparents in the Loire Valley. I remain focused on making wines that convey our story, with a nod to French tradition.â

Our Single Vineyard wines bring together a limited barrel selection that portrays the essence of high-elevation sites we love in the valley, including our family farm at Menefee. Neutral French barrels ensure the vineyards shine through, masked by nothing. Think purity, beauty, and a sense of place.
Menefee Vineyards is a magical place, planted on a rare occurrence of volcanic soils, tucked in the northwest edge of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, up on the coastal range. Bieze sits right atop Seven Springs Vineyard, benefiting from cool winds and warm sunny days. These sites have one thing in common: they are both planted on volcanic soils, not typically found in their respective AVAs. The Pinot Noirs also highlight the beauty of one of our favorite clones, both made up of 100% Pommard. In these cuvées, no new oak is used-- we want you to experience the vineyards in your glass. Age-worthy wines to cellar and enjoy.
â LA BELLE PROMENADE PINOT MEUNIER
The Meunier is 100% whole cluster with a semi-carbonic fermentation. The fruit is all in the background, upfront is an array of spices! It is equal parts juicy, bright and savory.
â WILD CHILD
A Skin-Contact Pinot Gris Aged in Amphora.
â INFINITE EMOTIONS
This cuvée combines Pinot Noir and Gamay from our family vineyard set in the coastal range of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Our version of the classic Passe-Tout-Grains, these two varietals are picked on the same day, destemmed, and fermented together.
