Mission and Zinfandel Ports!! 4 Year Vertical of Alicante Bouschet, oh my!
Hello, Berserkers!!
Brad Dehn (Long-time Berserker) here, and General Manager at Deaver Winery. We are so excited to be included and celebrating our second BerserkerDay with you! Your support of our small family winery is so appreciated.
Your first offering is a sampler from our oldest vineyard based Port production…the Mission 1854 is our most popular tasting room port and a wonderful take on this varietal while the Zinfandel is a standout for the region and the core varietal for the Deaver family since the 1860’s!
The second offer being a “fun focused” mini-vertical sampler of small production Alicante Bouschet. If you are a fan of the BIG reds (neutral oak), this should be in your wheelhouse! Offer is Limited to 24 sets–TWO cases is all I have!!
NOTE: These wines being offered are some of our most awarded Deaver Wines along with being my personal favorites.

Ken Deaver, wearing his trademark denims and cowboy hat, standing next to one of his generational head pruned circa vines.
Deaver Vineyards has a deep, rich history in Amador County with over 5 generations of Deaver’s growing wine grapes.
A drive over Deaver’s 300 acres will take you past the original five acre planting of Mission (1854) vines, so called because they were brought from Mexico by the Jesuits and Franciscans. These Deaver mission vines were planted by Ken Deaver’s great-great grandfather John Davis. His son, Ken’s great grandfather, planted the original Zinfandel (1860’s) vineyard a decade later.
Mission Vineyard
This vineyard is one of the oldest in Amador County along with being one of the oldest commercial Mission vineyards in the country. The vines were planted around 169 years ago and are still producing the grapes for our Mission style wines. They have also been sourced by several wineries along the West Coast over the years .
Zinfandel Vineyards
For decades, the Deaver’s Zinfandel grapes were sold exclusively to home winemakers. The first vintage of Deaver Vineyards Estate Zinfandel was bottled under the Deaver “Lakeshore” label in 1985.
