Chicago

Had a great meal last week at Crying Tiger, which is in River North. Place was very busy and food was excellent. Wine markup is high, but some solid Rieslings to enjoy.

For something very different, see if you can get into Class Act in Bucktown. Their speakeasy around the back is also worth a trip for some unique and outstanding drinks.

Sepia, Elske, Monteverde. The first two have an a la carte menu. Adalina Prime is a new spot in that area.

Would also recommend Bavette’s, Indienne or NADU - all in River North/Lincoln Park, which is no more than a 15-20 minute drive away.

We had a fantastic dinner at Monteverde on our last visit, and it’s not far from your hotel.

See my report above. I thought Cellar Door Provisions was excellent. As long as you don’t mind an all natural wine list.

Rose Mary is very nice. Interesting wine list.

I went there when it first opened and it was fun

Thank you for mentioning this! It’s now on my list to hit up. Especially seeing that Jonas is running the program

If you are looking for more casual close by, consider Gaijin (Japanese okonomayaki), Publican (pork and beer +) and Momotaro Izakaya
