Did hit Kitsune a bunch though it didn’t last long

Of course now that I am the city, I could’ve visited more often and given my support

You’re in city?

Yep, Logan

I found Tre Dita over hyped, over priced and just so so. Been twice. That was sufficient.

Any recommendations for a nice dinner where we can BYO (corkage is ok)?

Context: a good friend will be moving to San Francisco. A small group – probably 4, possibly 6 – want to take him out for a farewell meal. He’s an adventurous eater, so no real restrictions. Was thinking maybe El Ideas, even though I only liked (not loved) it the last time we went. Was also considering Jeong.

I will come back to this on Friday. I am going to Casa Madai on Thursday, which has extremely favorable corkage, and from what I have read, is excellent.

I’ve been to Casa Madai. I liked it fine, but thought the glowing reviews were a bit generous. The sushi was tasty (7.5-8.0/10 based on flavor/inventivness?), but the pieces were somewhat skimpy and the other dishes ranged from ok - good. The room was blah, service was fine, and the people super friendly. With that being said, I’d love to hear your thoughts because I allow for the possibility that I went when they were having an off night.

BOKA

Boka is consistently very good and occasionally great. My favorite restaurant that I never think of.

Hermosa.

Thank me later.

My favorite restaurant I always think of

may be a bottle limit on BYO per-table, so check w/mgt. I’ve seen the bros there with many btls, but may have been a private dining setup. otherwise great suggestion.

Boka or Hermosa?

Boka has a 2 bottle limit per table.

I don’t know anything about Hermosa

if referring to Hermosa, I don’t believe there’s a bottle limit. no corkage either. we’ve brought many bottles there in the past, and Ethan has always been cool with it.

sorry, boka. Yes, 2 btl limit, but have seen pix of many more btls in organized events there. For a party of 4 or 6, two btls limit would be unsatisfying. May need to book it as private party, more $.

Daisies in Logan Square is excellent and I recently discovered they only charge $25/btl and allow two bottles. The pastas are wonderful, and there are some creative and clever dishes throughout the menu.

I second Daisies as well (and Boka for that matter). If happening to travel a little further north Eden and Le Sud are great too.

Love Eden. Good call.
