perhaps a post with a list of what everyone is bringing

Good idea. So far only Mike and I have done that. I donā€™t think Mike knows any more info.

looks like a lot of food

Are we expecting eight people?

  1. Mike Lindauer
  2. Leslie Lindauer
  3. Loren Sonkin
  4. Jane Sonkin
  5. Scott McDonald
  6. Steve Nellessen
  7. Ryan Smith
  8. Jordan Whitehead

I think Mike was expecting 11 - 13. Mike is having eye surgery today but will be back here tomorrow. Of course, if it less people he offered to host at this apartment and would scale down the amount of food.

Scott and Jordan, any idea what you are bringing? I am happy to adjust up, or to a different region to match. Thanks.

Steve proposed bringing one or more of the following wines. I offered some options to pair with his proposals:

'08, '11, '13 Produttori del Barbaresco: various crus (Steve)
'13, '14 Produttori del Barbaresco: all crus (Scott)

'10 Vietti Barolo Lazzarito (Steve)
'10 Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino Barolo Riserva Bussia Cascina Dardi (Scott)

'10 Giodo BdM (Steve)
'10 La Serena BdM (Scott)

'06 Salvioni BdM (Steve)
'06 Martoccia di Brunelli BdM (Scott)
'06 Il Poggione BdM Riserva Vigna Paganelli (Scott)

'06 San Giusto a Rentennano La Ricolma (Steve)
'14 San Giusto a Rentennano La Ricolma (Scott)

'16 Sette Ponti Oreno (Steve)
'15 Sette Ponti Oreno (Scott)

We shooting for Italian? If so, it would be Piedmont.

Although I did just come across a mag of 07 Altesino BdM

Iā€™ll bring both of the following:

'14 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Rio Sordo
'10 La Serena Brunello di Montalcino

I am not familiar with many of the wines listed above, so will leave it to others to figure out flights.
But I also have:
2011 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Ovello and
2009 Cascina Adelaide Barolo Fossati
2009 Feudi di San Gregorio Irpinia Serpico

Great. So, perhaps we could ā€œorganizeā€ a wine list something like this:
Starter:
NV Pol Roger Champagne (Mike)

ā€œWhiteā€
2005 Gravner Breg Anfora (Loren) (Technically an ā€œorange or amber wineā€)

Tuscan/Brunello
2010 Giodo Brunelo di Montalcino (Steve)
2010 La Serena Brunello di Montalcino (Scott)
2010 Azienda Agricola Le Ragnaie Brunello di Montalcino Fornace (Loren)

Piedmont/BBarbaresco
2011 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Ovello (Mike)
2013 Produttori del Barbaresco ??? (Steve)
2014 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Rio Sordo (Scott)

Piedmont/Barolo
2009 Pio Cesare Barolo (Magnum) (Loren)
(I picked this to have a larger pour, but depending on Ryan and/or Jordan, I am happy to bring an older Barolo if we can put a flight of older ones together.)

Ryan - TBD
Jordan - TBD
???

Please donā€™t let me put words in your mouth. Just trying to tie the above threads together.

options
mag of 05 Taittinger Comtes
mag of 14 Fevre les Clos
mag 07 Altesino BdM
mag of 10 Rocche Manzoni Vigna dā€™la Roul
07 Giacosa Falleto

Steve and Jordan - solo or plus one?
Double extra bonus points to Jordan if he brings Charlize along.

I wish. Solo

I think itā€™s unlikely that I will be able to attend as I am trying to assist with the move of a business and I canā€™t get out of it. Should we finish early, and should there be room, Iā€™d love to join, likely with a +1.

Also, Mike, you live super close to my office (70 W. Madison).

I think this is where we are as to people:

  1. Mike Lindauer
  2. Leslie Van Buskirk
  3. Loren Sonkin
  4. Jane Flaherty
  5. Scott McDonald
  6. Steve Nellessen (not sure if plus 1)
  7. Mary Kay Nellssen
  8. Jordan Whitehead
  9. Ryan Smith (not sure if plus 1)
    Maybe Corey N. +1

Those are all fantastic options. While I like the idea of a white, the 2010 Manzoni seems to fit into the wine list better and gives us another Barolo. Given the number of people, the Mag option probably works better than even the Giacosa (canā€™t believe I said that  ). But what ever you decide will be excellent I am sure.

Actually not sure if Scott is solo or plus one. Steveā€™s plus one is Mary Kay!

My 2010 Val di Suga (Angelini) Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Spuntali could be added as well. Then weā€™d have 4 x 2010 vintage to compare.

Weā€™d love to have you join us.

Also, you could walk over after work sometime to watch Arsenal and/or have a glass or two.
