Chicago 5/17 Blue Star Bistro table "Wines that don't suck" FULL

I’ll get this one rolling…

RPS— 2003 Sine Qua Non Syrah Papa
1998 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie
2004 Château de Fargues 375

D Kolin + 1 2001 Trimbach CFE 375th and some other wretched crap TBD

B Stucker— 2006 Lillian blue label syrah

Ryan Kilkenney— 2001 Pianpolvere Soprano Barolo Riserva or 2002 Ch Montelena + 1995 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos St. Urbain

Jim Brennan + 1 — 1989 Huet Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux + 2008 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny

Chris Blum + 1 Thinking about bringing 2000 Silex and some non-cab Red. Or 96 Krug if folks want that but I’m not sure about pairings. For dessert wines…maybe 07 Baumard QdC unless you guys wanna go port

M Shaffer— 2002 Pierre Peters Cuvee Speciale Les Chetillons and 04 Tig

Dat’s 10

+2

Add me here too.

Please sign me up here, too (just me for this one).

This sounds like a fun table. If there’s a hidden Berserkerfest context, let me know.

Would be happy to join + 2.

I presume you meant you + 1, right, Jim?

Me + 1, correct

I hope your 1040 is clearer today. [wow.gif] [snort.gif]

Will have to think about some wines that don’t suck.

that’s it? [tease.gif]

btw, 98 Jamet Côte-Rôtie clearly falls into the table category as it is an amazing wine

Or a crappy bottle, as things may turn.

In with Jules. You got that RPS?? WE ARE DRINKING AT THIS TABLE.

Thinking about bringing 2000 Silex and some non-cab Red. Or 96 Krug if folks want that but I’m not sure about pairings. For dessert wines…maybe 07 Baumard QdC unless you guys wanna go port.

Room for me here? Thinking 04 Tig and some bubble tbd.

With Chris, Jules and Matt, we are full.

I’ve got about 12 cases alone of dessert style Chenin Blanc, so I’d be happy to bring some of that for the dessert wine selection.

Let me figure out what I can find in my locker (still not very organized since moving here from Michigan)… but odds are I can find some Huet, Pierre-Bise, Pithon, Soucherie, Renou, Pinon, or Foreau to bring. I can also probably some of the wine that Baumard created in his freezer, if that’s what floats your boat.

I’m also thinking about bringing a bottle of '08 Rougeard, if folks agree that wouldn’t suck.

One vote for Huet. champagne.gif flirtysmile
