looks like I may have a free night on Wednesday dec 3 in Chicago and would love to open some bottles with locals or anyone in town, lmk if interested.
I’m available and would like to join you, Michael.
Sounds great! We can figure out details once we know who all is interested!
Interested as well!
Based in Chicago and would be interested, if room allows. Thanks!
I’m scheduled to fly back from Germany that day. If it’s later in the evening, I may be able to attend.
Good to hear from you Michael. Enjoyed seeing you last year. I should be free the evening of 12/3 as well.
Will do my best to be free and join!
Anyone have an idea for a venue, ideally with cheap or free corkage and good food? I’ll be in south loop area but can go anywhere close. As usual I’ll bring some burgs.
I am interested in joining as well
312 Fish Market (Sushi, Chinatown) is BYOB, as is Vinci (Italian, Lincoln Park) if the bottle has 10 or more years of age.
Too bad 12/3 is not a Monday, then Hawksmoor would have been no corkage.
Isn’t their corkage reasonable on other nights?
$50.
Also interested.
I’m definitely in.
Count me in. 312 Fish Market sounds great - haven’t been in a bit and the perfect excuse to open some great champagne and white burgundy.
Does someone local want to take the lead and make reservations somewhere? It sounds like we may have a good turnout.
Both options sound great. I’ll bring some champagne and a red burg.
312 Fish Market is closed on Wednesdays, and Vinci only does reservations for up to 8 people - we have 11 folks so far who’ve expressed interest. Alternatively, we can meet up Birch Road (unsure of headcount limit) and/or Domaine - many of us on this thread are members of both, and order takeout.
I would be ok with meeting at domaine, might be more casual and easy to do for a lot of people; what hours are they open, though?
10a-6p are their official hours (with staff present), but we can be there until 10pm in the lounge. We need to be mindful however of how many folks gather, as their team may consider a large number of individuals as a private event - which would come with a cost (in the $1000s).
