Chave vs Allemand vs Jamet - NYC edition 10/26 6:30pm at San Pietro

Hi All, I recently traveled to LA and was super jealous that I would be missing the LA event for Chave vs Allemand as N-Rhone is some of my favorites. So I thought, if I couldn’t make it to the LA event, bring the event to you, so I would like to gauge interest if people would like to do the same event in NYC.

I also want to make sure Jamet has some representation. I think comparing Hermitage, to Cornas, and to Cote Rotie adds even more fun.

I would like to host the event at San Pietro.

For the wine, lets try and have a minimum of 10 years of age on each bottle.

I think we should limit this to 12 people so each person can try the wine. If you put your name down, let me know which bottle(s) you plan to bring so I can add them to the list.

Seat1: J0hnEhrl1ng - 2009 Chave Hermitage (and some Jamet if there are not enough Jamet’s)
Seat2: @Juliec - 2012 Allemand reynard
Seat3: @Alex_Valdes - Chave Hermitage
Seat4: @Stephen_Chen 2006 Chave Hermitage
Seat5: @Ethan_A 2013 Allemand reynard
Seat6: @gavin.f 2000 Jamet
Seat7: @Joseph_Grassa Mag 2006 Jamet
Seat8: @Joseph_Grassa’s +1
Seas9: @Dinesh_Goyal Allemand reynard

Thursday 10/26 at 6:30.

i was skeptical of the claim of best italian food in nyc, but it’s right there on their website! well done.

“The best and most authentic Italian restaurant outside of Italy”

i’ve never been.

“it’s on their website so it must be true!” Jokes aside, I have been there many times and the food is spectacular, service is top notch and they have excellent stemware.

You had me here.

I am interested. Fridays are tougher for me. Down for any Thursday 10/19 on. Will see which Friday might work

Another person I know told me something similar. That a Thursday would be better for them. If there is a lot of interest for a Thursday, then we can change the day no problem.

Would definitely be down, but not back to the States October 20th and away Thursday and Friday week of 11/7. Thursday 10/26 would also be tricky but potentially doable.

Would love to attend – October’s tough for me (as are the two Fridays listed for November). If the event ends up falling on another date in November (particularly 11/6-11/9, 11/11, or 11/13-11/15) there’s a good shot I can make it work!

@Evan_K @Stephen_Chen @Alex_Valdes i’ll put you guys down as tentative until you know for certain which days work best and/or we settle on a date that works best for everyone.

Count me in! I am flexible on dates except the NJ school break week (Nov 8-10).

97 Jamet and 2010 Allemand Chaillot at home right now, I have many other vintages of Chaillot and Reynard offsite I can pull with notice.

Sounds good Ethan. I’ll add you.

Gone the middle two weeks, but could do Oct 23rd on

Gavin i’ll put you down since we are most likely going to have it after 10/23. Which wine(s) are you bringing?

Thursdays or Fridays could work, but just depends on which we land on. Both Julie G and I are interested though.

What date is most likely as of now? If I can make it I can do jamet '14 or chave '11

Based on feedback I think Thursday 10/26 would be best. Anyone have any conflicts? If this doesn’t work maybe the following Thursday 11/2?

@Joseph_Grassa @Alex_Valdes @gavin.f @YLee @Ethan_A @Stephen_Chen @Evan_K @Juliec

@YLee if this works for you, I would bring the Chave as currently we only have 1 Chave listed. Would be nice to have more Chave.

I can do that and bring Chave

What time you thinking?

Unfortunately, won’t be able to make those dates. I’ll keep an eye on the thread in case this is rescheduled – otherwise, sorry to miss it!

Either fine by me.
