Chateau de Meursault

Anyone familiar with their wines? Picked up a brew MP from them.

Honestly, all my past impressions of their wines have been middling at best. I did visit once, did the tour, tasting, etc., even bought some bottles while there just to further explore their range. Nothing ever made me sit up and take notice.

That said, it’s been quite a number of years since I’ve had any of their stuff; and I’ve read that the current owners have been “stepping up” things there the past several years. Looking forward to reading your notes.

meh. Based on last tasting about a year ago, but of ~5-7 year old wine. I remember thinking that this wasn’t something to take the time to post on.

Yeah the wine I got was a ‘10 MP, so we’ll see.

2013 was the first vintage under new ownership.

07 Meursault: meh.

Yeah we’ll see, it’s fun to roll the dice w these for 50-70. Not so much at 400 like that jadot Montrachet

My history and feelings exactly.

Chateau de Meursault was aquired by my friend Olivier Halley a couple of years ago ( around 2013 ) . They are investing massively to upgrade facilities and vineyard work . I liked the 2014 Meursault Charmes a lot . The 2015 reds are also of fine quality .
This is an estate where there is a lot of potential but of course , you cannot change everything in just 1 or 2 years .

I bought the MP in 13 and 14 after finding them very much improved at the EP tastings. Certainly not top tier but good value nonetheless. Haven’t broached any yet though to confirm.

ditto
We did the tour (blah blah blah) and didn’t buy anything after the tasting. Improvement would be refreshing.
