Matthew is awesome, and best I can tell, knows everything there is to know about the N. Rhone.
ha! indeed. i believe syrah courses through his veins. good people for sure. NYCâs loss is Charlestonâs gain.
lol in that case Monarch is PERFECT. Except last time I saw Justin he doesnât have a beard.
but just know that everything on the website that says its Limited or whatever wording he uses is already sold. lol
Strongly recommend you check out the travel forum. I went last May and Scott and the rest of the goons in the Charleston thread were a big help.
Strong support for Leonâs as I rather love champagne and fried chicken and oysters. The list is well curated with some fun finds. My only disappointment at Leons was that my mom wasnât that interested in a second bottle of champagne. Fun grower stuff, good chicken (sides could use a touch up) and overall very fun atmosphere with great service.
I was very impressed with the service at Circa 1886, list is good, atmosphere is lovely, but I was not that impressed with the food. Itâs a nice enough establishment that Iâd still be glad to go back for round two to see other dishes.
I was there May 2022 and our meal was excellent, wine director was fun and gave us a lot of attention. Was one of my fave dining experiences in Charleston and I was very concerned going in having heard it was not what it once was.
@Jorge_Henriquez joined me with his wife so he can share his thoughts.
Weâll be in Charleston in two weeks. I secured dinner reservations at Husk and Fig. Disappointing to hear that Husk may not have been a good choiceâŚ
Obviously this is why you were treated so well
This thread is wild. I lived in Charleston 04-08 and visited quite a bit in the following few years. I donât recognize a single name except Fig. Back when I lived there, my favorites were McCradyâs, SNOB, Coast (Sundays for half off wine) and 39 Rue de Jean (Sundays for burgers). I actually worked in the kitchen at Rue making salads and desserts one summer.
