Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires

Have loved this wine for years. I see the 2014 was just released with a big jump between the previously released 2007 and this 2014. Anyone have any advance knowledge if the house plans to release any of the intervening years?

IIRC there was no releases between 1995 and 2004. So I would not be surprised if the 2007 to 2014 gap is the same (i.e. no releases).

There many more knowledgeable Champagne folks who will know for sure.

I think there had only been four vintages of this or something like that.

Strange that that they would skip ‘08 and ‘12 but do ‘06/‘07/‘14

Could they be holding back the 2008 / 2012 for a later release? Some houses seem to do this with their tetes de cuvees where they don’t necessarily release in chronological sequence.

I am surprised they chose to do 2014 and not 2013.

It is interesting because they did a 2017 Cuvee Charlie based on the 2016 vintage, and that bottle has been on the market already for some time now. It’s a spectacular wine, but the price is up there for sure.

Maybe, but '14 before '08 is quite a jump

Interesting. I hadnt considered it before, but I wonder if the focus on new Champagne Charlie might be pulling wines and effort away from the blanc de Millenaires. I guess I’ll just have to backfill more 06s and 07s so I have more of them while waiting on the '14s.
