Champagne Doux besides Doyard Libertine & VC Rich?

Has anyone tried any Doux Champagne, and if so, is there one you can recommend? I have tried two demi-secs (VC & another forgettable one), but they seemed a bit “neither-nor” to me. Typically, I drink extra brut / brut nature sparklings, but I adore Sauternes, which prompted my interest in doux champagne.

The only doux I’m finding in the USA with my limited Google & W-S skills is Doyard Champagne La Libertine priced at $270, which is a bit more that I want to pay for a curiosity. The VC Rich bottle is so gaudy that it gives me pause. Is there anything else out there?

Not sure about Doux, but Roederer, Piper, LP, Pommery, and Billecart Salmon all have Demi Sec offerings that are likely a step up from VC or Moet.

Margaine Demi-sec is reliably delicious.

Selosse?
I guess it’s a sec though…

Makes the Doyard look like a bargain!

Astrid,

Off the top of my head I can’t think of any, but I know there are a few more. As to the NV Clicquot Rich, it is really meant to be mixed and not consumed neat so I wouldn’t recommend it for drinking straight. It was made for the bar/nightclub scene so that Yellow Label would stop being used in cocktails… funny how the Rich is now more expensive than the Yellow Label. Also, note that the Clicquot Vintage Rich is a completely different animal and usually a Sec or lower level Demi-Sec. The vintage version is a very high quality sweet wine.

There is always Ratafia too.
