We’ll keep the email brief today as there will most likely be a few speeches on June 6th, as we celebrate 25 years of Chambers Street Wines! In June of 2001, Jamie Wolff and David Lillie (photo above with Eben Lillie) opened the doors at 160 Chambers Street. Jamie had convinced David that New York might support a shop that indulged their love for naturally made wines from artisanal small producers (thanks Jamie!), and though the future of retail wine is currently a bit uncertain, we are proud to say we’ve found a way to persevere with that simple, humble mission! Now in our 25th year, and our third (and hopefully final!) location at 79 Chambers Street, we figured it was about time to celebrate this milestone.
Exact time will be confirmed later (likely 6 or 7pm), but the venue is booked and we are now selling tickets, which include food, wine, tax and tip. Food will be buffet style, and we welcome everyone to bring wine for the celebration.
