CellarTracker’s Hall of Shame: Missing and Presumed Drunk; post your worst MIA bottles

I went to the cellar to grab a 2012 Paul Bara Special Club Rosé for a special night. No luck. Searched everywhere, and it’s MIA. Backup plan: 2012 Roederer Starck Rosé. Also gone. Third time’s the charm. I’m now chilling a 2009 Elisabeth Billecart Rosé.

Naturally, this led me down the rabbit hole of my worst CellarTracker offenses. On the desktop site, I filtered “Consumed Wines” by the “Missing and Presumed Drunk” consumption type.

Oh boy.

Here are the top painful vanishings:

  • 1985 Louis Roederer Cristal
  • 2007 Dauvissat Les Clos (probably oxidized anyway)
  • Two magnums of 2009 Cristal
  • Two 1996 Philipponnat Clos des Goisses
  • 1971 and 1979 Taittinger Comtes BdB
  • 2004 Raveneau Butteaux
  • Several 2004 Krug

I’ll stop here. It’s hard to see the keyboard through the tears.

Misery loves company. Help me out here.

I’d like that written on my tombstone.

this feature is meant as a personal status update, not about the wine itself.

Just figured out I’m missing a 17 and 18 Lafon Monty… :man_detective:

Definitely my saddest missing wines so far. Guess we already drank them. :pensive:

I’m not sure what you mean by that. For me, it’s an accounting or inventory adjustment and correction

Well i have had a few of them - a Thibault Liger-Belair Richebourg and a Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes come to mind. Could be a lot worse.

I use the CT app and log my consumption the moment I grab my bottle. Haven’t lost one yet.

And that’s the difference between you and me. There’s a reason the nurses and scrub techs do the instrument and sponge count at the end of a surgery. Surgeons can’t be trusted with count reconciliation.

Not a CT user because ADD but I cannot find a 2008 VCC and don’t recall drinking it…

At the end of the day, we all gotta chart in the EMR :weary: I think the solution is integrating CT into Vocera. No tears, just happy toasts.

Apparently I am really bad about recording consumption when it happens because when i did the sort for missing and presumed drunk I came up with 230 bottles, the absence of each of which i only discovered either when doing an inventory or looking for the particular bottle.

I wasn’t anywhere near the place and you can’t prove otherwise

• a 750ml of 2004 Haut Brion Blanc.
That’s the most spectacular fail.
• a 750 of 1998 Beaucastel Hom à J Perrin
(Supposed to have 2, can find only 1)

Against that is finding things I thought I had drunk up completely, incl. 3x 1982 Ch Margaux (how the f did I mis-inventory that???), another XWCY! Summer Salters III, a Taylor 1963 port (where the heck did this come from ?) ……

A bunch of Mugnier, Fourrier, and Dujac consumed and presumed drunk during those first Covid months. I mean, why not?

Countless Carlisle, Bedrock, Sandlands, and Jouan presumed drunk over the years. I update them semi-annually.

Only 51 bottles for me and nothing “too” painful:

2014 Roses de Jeanne / Cédric Bouchard Champagne Blanc de Noirs Cote de Bechalin
2009 Château de Pibarnon Bandol
2015 Domaine Ostertag Pinot Gris Fronholz
2012 Remoissenet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers
2016 Domaine Rossignol Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

I’d consider this as totally acceptable!

I’ve not had any missing bottles, but have definitely found a lot of bottles recently that I didn’t know I had.

I thought I had 2 bottles of Doyard Les Lumieres 2008 champagne. I remember buying them, I’m pretty sure I haven’t opened them, and I have 0 idea where they are at the moment.

Bottle of 2005 Perrot Minot Clos de Beze…no clue where it is…assume SIL took it and drank it after finding a bottle of Jadot Corton Charlie in the recycle bin that met the same fate.

I have some filed under “Missing and presumed stolen and drunk by Neal.”
