Case 10
I’m looking to pick up a case of dureuil janthial. Can you recommend a good assortment to explore their line and, if possible, a retailer where you usually stock up on their wines and might have the specific wines of theirs you recommend?
Wine exchange has 22 rully blanc and 22 rully rouge en guenes in stock. Empire also has the 22 en guenes. Zachys has 22 mazieres and crush has 22 meix cadot.
Do you find the VV Meix Cadot to be significantly ‘better’ than the regular Meix Cadot? I see the US price for regular is the European price for VV. I shudder to think what the VV costs in the US. But it’s a big differential, so presumably/hopefully also in the wine?
A couple more wines.
Chateau Pradeaux Bandol
Vajra Barolo Albe
Perfect, thanks! Grabbed three of each. Except the Meix Cadot at Crush which was pre-order so I ordered the two 20s they had. Appreciate your guidance on this!
Very timely advice @Howard_Cooper, I’m headed to Bandol in February as a quick side trip from Nice so I’m going to try to stop by Pradeaux, Tempier, and Pibarnon. I’m taking a 12-bottle wine suitcase so I should be able to bring 4-ish Pradeaux back with me.
I think it is quite a bit better but does need a bit more time.
I went to Pradeaux and Pibarnon about 15 years ago (Tempier was closed the day we were there) and we had a great time. Pradeaux is a very old fashioned place making wonderful wines. Pibarnon has a much more modern facility, but the wines are also excellent. So, two fabulous places to visit that are very different from each other.
