The pricing on Woodland is interesting. I think they’ve rolled up 2-3 different waves now, all with increasing pricing. I grabbed some Bechalin for $160 (paid $130-140 last year), but at $180, it seems to be sitting. I’m guessing this will look cheap in another 12-24 months, but I have more than enough at this point.

And I may have just picked up the last bottle of the Val Vilaine that VinylWine had.

Appears that they (smartly) limit it to 1 bottle per purchase as there is still availability on their site. Love when retailers have the goods, price it well and limit people from cleaning them out!

Wine is meant to be shared, enjoyed, and consumed by people who love it - rock on Vinylwine!

I’d been buying these wines for over a decade but got “priced out” when the '11 VV crept over $70/btl. If anyone is not depressed enough already from this thread, go to Zachys auction site and search “Cedric Bouchard” at the March 31-April 6, 2021 Hong Kong zCollection (https://auction.zachys.com/catalog.aspx?auctionid=49). I was fortunate to snag a case of the '15 VV for $543 all in. Sure I had to wait 18 months for tariff-free boat delivery, but what a great wine. I plowed through a few bottles over the holidays but after reading this thread, and seeing what they sell for now, I will be more cautious with the rest. If I could go back in time, I would back up the truck at that Zachys auction.

Yes but they came from Hong Kong. They are likely fake. Don’t think Rudy doesn’t read Willian Kelley and still get the electronic Wine Advocate

I’m a firm believer in good old American “supply and demand” determining the price. On the one hand I wouldn’t be all that put off if the price on the Val Vilaine were over $100. Certainly worth it, IMO. And it would perhaps leave more on the table for those willing to pay the tariff without complaining.

I essentially agree but we should also wish for much of the increase to go to the producer, not the middle man.
