Cedarville Vineyards!

Sierra Foothills, El Dorado County.

Over the past few days I’ve tasted their 07 Syrah, Petite and Zinfandel. They are extremely good across the board and represent exceptional QPR.

I understand their cabs and grenache (06 sold out, 07s yet to be released) are also outstanding.

My advice is to check them out. http://www.cedarvillevineyard.com/

Agreed, they have very good wines at good value. Other recent favorites of mine have been their 2006 Viognier (more mineral driven than most Cali viogniers) and their 2005 Cabernet (different style than most Napa cabs, less ripe, some tobacco, earthiness that reflects the decomposed granite).

Cedarville has been my favorite hidden gem since my first visit a few years ago. Jonathan and Susan are great people to boot!

See here for the notes from the group visit we did there this spring: http://dat.erobertparker.com/bboard/showthread.php?t=201327" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The biggest realization from that visit was that these wines are not only one of the best QPRs out there, they age extremely well. Jonathan pulled a 2000 Viognier that knocked my socks off!

Mike, give them a call - the mailer just hit and that is the best time to buy. They offer pre-release discounts and mixed case discounts - the Viognier and Syrah end-up being less than $20! And make sure to order some grenache and Cab when you get the chance - the best wines they make IMO.

I love it when folks discover places and wines I have been touting for a while. I was part of the group Mike Sai mentions that visited Cedarville earlier in the year. Gorgeous property. We have been enjoying the wine from Jonathan and Susan for a number of years. The Cabs age very well indeed. And we are suckers for their Viognier.

Check out Hug Cellars next Mike D!!!

Their Cabs are quite good. They need some time or air, but they are good. I’ve had the 04s, 05s, & 06s.

Viognier really rocks and as stated above the Cab Sav ages gracefully and is very good QPR.
