1 — 2007 BIONIC FROG SY 750 ML
1 — 2000 CAMASPELO 750 ML
1 — 2004 FLYING PIG 750 ML

Also: 1-'07 Bionic Frog, 1-'00 Camaspelo, and 1-'04 Flying Pig.

I didn’t participate because I have a stack of cayuse, but a few of my friends scored with some of my all time favorite cayuse gems, ‘05 frog and ‘06 en cerise. Another friend got an ‘03 impulsivo, which may be the only cayuse wine I’ve never tried. I told him I’d pop an 03 unico to compare. What a cool opportunity to pick up perfectly stored aged wines.

• 1 — 2007 CAMASPELO 750 ML
• 1 — 2008 FLYING PIG 750 ML

I don’t know if that’s a good draw or not. I have had the 2007 Camaspelo a few times and it is outstanding. Love the wine and happy to get more. The others? I don’t know, but a 2003 Cayuse Syrah sounds interesting and I’ve never had, or even seen, a Flying Pig.

I ordered for a friend and got.

For those that got the 2000 camaspelo… pretty cool. I think that was the wine that christophe brought to a wine spec forum offline at delille that inspired me to get on the list.

Coccinelle is effectively Bionic Frog – and the 2003 is really great (at least used to be, I still have a few resting in the cellar). The 2008 FP should be excellent as well. Glad you finally scored some!

2002 En Chamberlin
2004 Armada
2007 Impulsivo

Got the following:

1 — 2008 BIONIC FROG SY 750 ML
1 — 2003 EN CERISE SY 750 ML
1 — 2006 WIDOWMAKER 750 ML

That’s a nice set.

For the aficionado, by the way. Why is it called Bionic Frog? Because that is the nickname that the Aussies gave Christophe Baron when he was working there. Flying Pig? I have no idea.

Its something along the lines of when asked why he wasn’t making a merlot (during its mid late 90’s hey day) he replied something to the effect of he’ll make merlot when pigs fly. And of coarse the FP is a cab franc / merlot blend.

The story I heard was that when he first came to WW he was not well received by the locals. He told them he intended to make a great bordeaux blend and was told by everyone that when a great bordeaux blend was made in WW that Pigs Would Fly. He made one and named it that.

PS - The Aussie nickname story comes from Trevor Dorland, so maybe it’s true.

Yeah, he’s a better source so I’ll go with that.
