Catfish and Broccoli with Dry Sauvignon Blanc

Last night’s dinner was pan-grilled catfish in EVOO, a large one (14.8ozs) split down the middle for the two of us, seasoned with SI Spicy Seafood Seasoning, citrus herb seasoning, and salad herbs. Veggie was broccoli flowerets cooked in chicken stock, Thai fish sauce, and chopped garlic. Wine was a tasty 1997 Grgich Hills Fumé Blanc - fill a 1/4 inch below the cork, cork stained a ragged half inch; bright pear, green apple and quince fruit, with good acidity, and no oxidation; with a medium long complex fruit finish.

Then for dessert we shared a rich Chocolate Maven brownie enjoyed with half of a bottle of 1996 Lamborn Family Vineyard Howell Mountain Zinfandel - rich, dark berry fruit, with little acidity and resolved tannins, with a medium long berry fruit finish. It was surprisingly good with the brownie.

And I cannot even manage a forkful! And dessert as well? [wow.gif]

You don’t like catfish; we like it a lot.

9 pounds of catfish each?!?!?? Ouch!

I edited my post. It was a 14.8oz catfish, shared by us.
