This is the inaugural Russell Bevan vintage. I haven’t heard any buzz. Has anyone barrel sampled or tasted these in bottle yet?
I’ve been buying Carter since the 2015 vintage. I have mixed feeling about some of the offerings with the heavy super plush fruit- finding them enjoyable only as an aperitif or after dinner drink. Others like Fortuna and Weitz are elegant and food friendly. On the balance, I hope Russell moves the wines more towards elegance.
What are you guys up to?

I went up a couple of weeks ago and tasted through the entire lineup with Mark Carter. I posted something about the tasting along with a trip to Aperture and Pride. Synopsis… I didn’t see any fall off in performance with Russell taking over as winemaker. I went big with purchase, probably too big based on the price increases. Will probably have to taper back as prices get higher and higher. Regardless, purchased everything except GTO, Haze and Daze. Stand outs for me were Carter Carter, Missouri Hopper and OG.
Love the wines. Big hike in prices though.

I’ve decided to take a pass on account of some heavy spending for 2022 Bordeaux. At the $250 level I’m afraid I have much more compelling choices.
